This might be one of the few HT pieces that actually is worth something in 20-30 years.
But then you have to ship it. Is someone going to pay $150 or more to ship this thing on top of the price? I can’t sell my sealed 89 Batman deluxe for cost because of the shipping price. Once people hear that price they back out and I’m getting exact quotes for shipping.
It does look great in that beskar kid video.

It’s even worse for statues. I am having buyer’s remorse over a custom Obi vs Anakin statue I got, but it’ll probably cost $400+ to ship the two giant boxes it came in.
I'm still mulling another one but I'm bummed by the use of a 10 year old inaccurate sculpt and stuff like the pauldron being wrong (should be segmented for white one) not to mention the stubby thigh armor that's been an issue from day one with HT troopers.Jury is out on the Sergeant, though. May pick one up since it did turn out great.
I'd replace the helmet anyway, I've been sitting on accurate resin helmets for years and plan on doing ANH customs; just a question of whether or not to do the Sandtrooper. You're not wrong about the rest but I'm not sure I care enough about the other inaccuracies anymore. I've grown lazy.I'm still mulling another one but I'm bummed by the use of a 10 year old inaccurate sculpt and stuff like the pauldron being wrong (should be segmented for white one) not to mention the stubby thigh armor that's been an issue from day one with HT troopers.
It's really strange. I can't imagine Howard looks at these helmets and thinks "Great!" ... I'd say it's a way to keep collectors hungry but they don't make that many OT troopers so ... what the hell are they even doing?Bizarre HT went to town with all-new armor and helmet for their ROTJ stormie (though even that new sculpt was a fail, simply reversing the position of their ANH error, and looking nothing like the unique ROTJ bucket) yet an arguably better seller like a sandie they just re-use everything from a decade ago.
I'm one of the old "rivet counters" on the Star Wars forums, accuracy nut, etc. But right now I don't care that much anymore. I realized that no licensed company will make a 100% accurate item. Heck, even the life-size helmets from RS are not 100% accurate to screen used. The same with blasters and everything else. I toned down my expectations, entered the Zen period of collecting and I feel much better.I'd replace the helmet anyway, I've been sitting on accurate resin helmets for years and plan on doing ANH customs; just a question of whether or not to do the Sandtrooper. I remember your Rivet Counter days. In my first decade as a collector I had fun (and a little frustration LOL) customizing with Marmit and HT parts with SSC accessories to make the most accurate troopers I could, referencing the MEPD resources and screenshots, etc.I toned down my expectations, entered the Zen period of collecting and I feel much better.
Very nice! Do you know if they ever made any ANH versions?...Im not the greatest picture taker. Here's a few though.View attachment 754677View attachment 754678View attachment 754679View attachment 754680
Clearly you have never bought anything from Jazzinc. Those boxes are the size of … well something much bigger than a small fridge. The craziest collectible I ever purchased was the Hot Toys '89 Batmobile; showed up in a box the size of a small fridge.
