I thought that I would be content with my custom marmit sandtrooper and wouldn't need a HT sandie - until I got my HT stormtrooper set. The quality is just so much better than marmit's, the paint and precision of the casts is great. I still prefer the marmit helmet sculpt, so I'll be keeping him, but I don't think I can skip this release. Since my custom is an orange pauldron version as well, I'm still waiting for a different HT version before I pre-order, though.

It's whatever date is printed on the coupon post card - it's not a specific amount of time because the post cards show up at a random date. For many it's been the first of the previous month - for example, COMIC15 is the July coupon and it's applicable to pre-orders and in-stock items listed to Sideshow's site prior to June 1st.

I still expect someone to ask the same question in the next 24 hours.

Wouldn't this, R5, and Tatooine Luke work, then? All were put up in May. Something's rotten in Denmark. Calling SS customer service to get this sorted out.

I can't find the scan of the coupon post card now - someone posted it to Facebook the other day and I'm 99.9% sure it said June 1st. I'd confirm that in the fine print as well as the release date of any figures before calling Sideshow.

And BTW, Luke went up on June 1st, so it is not valid for this coupon.

Just joking about calling CS. Right you are on Luke too. Remembered HT did the reveal right before a work trip to Chicago but forgot it didn't show up on SS's site for a few days.

The sandtrooper likely isn't going anywhere. This coupon works until August 7 so I was planning to possibly try it on something at the beginning of August. I remember the November code didn't work on Chewie until early December.

And the coupon works now--works on R5 too. All you have to do is talk about it in this forum and it magically happens.

Just tried to order R5 with the coupon, last night. Glad I waited a day (did order two sets of Jawas, though, so R5 will have a good home now). Can't complain about $120.00 for that fella. Thanks for advising, Ton.

No prob! Still a tiny bit on the fence about R5 (though did put my order in), but I'm completely sold on the Jawas and he would complement them pretty well while freeing up R2 and 3PO for other display options. The Jawas play such a big part in ANH and short figs like them and R5 are so unique to the SW galaxy that's it's hard to pass them up.

EDIT: And thanks for the rep! I think I sent you the clear rod for your probe droid by the way from over on RS.

You can always pair Jawas with Sandtroopers - like the one in this thread. I've been re-thinking my own displays to shuffle things around and gain more display space, so I'll pair Jawas with new Sandtroopers and Boba Fett, while my old troopers stick with their Dewback and a Tusken Raider.

Hopefully it works out well, I'm adding a single new Detolf to my office and will be moving the Dewback into it, along with my Hoth Display which will feature a Probe Droid, E-Web Tauntaun and a few figures on the same shelf.

I feel like Sandtroopers display best with a gaggle of dead Jawas littered around them.

I'll probably go for R5-D4. Paired with some Jawas will look cool. Like others have said too a Sandtrooper could go decently in a Tatooine display.
