I've never been able to buy the Marmit bucket as anything close enough to sell me on its likeness of the stunt bucket. I know it's measurements are probably more accurate in some areas, but the large jowl and frown kept my eye on the horizon.

I also respect your folks knowledge, I'm not meaning to argue, just discuss...as I love discussing. :)

I would love to see this helmet on a Marmit body.

Mine was just released from Customs.

Could arrive by tomorrow if I'm lucky.

Awesome!! Congrats, guys.

I just got my notice that they will be shipping on the 10th from SS. Funny thing, they are shipping the order I placed on the 10th of Nov, full price, not the order I placed 11 days earlier with my rewards price.

I also have a pieced out HT body and helmet on its way...not sure how long it's going to take.

Pics!

[...]I tried to print my own 1/6 bucket and I see the challenges HT ran across. The software smoothed edges and trying to make a symmetric sculpt screws up the eyes of you are working off a scanned image.[...]

Which software? I use Rhino and more recently started Zbrush training; I will eventually tackle the ANH stunt bucket in Zbrush by sculpting from scratch; but that will be a passion project and I won't get to it for a long time.

My problem was I was referring to the sandtrooper helmet in the stormtrooper thread. I didn't order any HT stormtroopers because they didn't get the helmet close enough to my liking. I still like the Marmit armor better, especially if it had crisper edges and quality plastic. But painted and put on another body they look exceptional. They just missed the helmet.

Yes, I think at certain angles the HT Stormy looks better than any other, but still off.

Not arguing, but for me...nothing has been better than this sandtrooper helmet sculpt. I've been waiting a long time for this. I tried to print my own 1/6 bucket and I see the challenges HT ran across. The software smoothed edges and trying to make a symmetric sculpt screws up the eyes of you are working off a scanned image.

Cheers! :)

I feel exactly the opposite. The HT armor is superior to Marmit, but not the helmet. HT Stormie and Sandie beat Marmit versions on all accounts: overall figure, sharpness of sculpt, armor and helmet details, body and assembly, weathering, blasters, except the overall sculpt of the lid.

Mine should be here by next week I'm hoping. Also plan to put up a few pics. The wait has been so long on this baby !

Playing battlefront these are the views of the sand trooper that you tend to see most ! Looking at each other down the barrel of the blaster !!

Hot toys should do a " someone was in the pod. The tracks go off in this direction" helmet version, with the lower visor...
