In your view, what makes this 1st attempt better?
Thx
Not better, on par. If you’re thinking of this compared to what is on order.
This trooper is neat due to its weathering, great helmet, sculpt and articulation. Not only do you get the normal E-11 blaster but three blasters in total. Also a bunch of ammo pouches. All in all making army building more fun. We do need some more variation in buckets though since this “new” version shares the same bucket sculpt.

Been rearranging my figures some, and I forgot just how awesome of a figure this one is. Looking forward to the Sergeant later this year!

In anticipation of receiving the Sergeant and Dewback sometime this year I figured I would prep my two Sandies for deployment with them. I stripped them both down, tightened the joints, fixed all the pieces where the HT glue had failed, and modified/weathered one to a black puldron. Still have the hands and dullcoat on the pauldron to do but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I wish I could find a nice 3D print or custom of the shorter backpack they used. I may have to default to the Hasbro but I don't know if I could salvage it enough to make it look good.

I went with the below trooper for my weathering template. It is also the one looking through the macrobinoculars when you first see the patrol. As a side note, I always found it odd how dark and plentiful the filth was. It's like they were just rolling around in mud or shoveling the Dewback pens. Then you look at their shoes and they are cleaner than every other piece of armor .
