Good film..I don’t think this is a figure I really want in my collection right away though

we’ll see

Man these are hilarious to read. So many people will read these as "good" or tell themselves that the movie was "good." The reviews are plain as day that this is another generic, blundering mess. This is how superhero fatigue happens.
I saw the film earlier today and I actually enjoyed it. I was entertained, but the story was indeed not that good. Just your generic MCU forumula at this point. Without going into spoilers the logic of Wenwu (The Mandarin) to get his children to return home was absolutely nonsensical and downright stupid.

I think I'm a lock for both figures...at a discounted price! These won't be day one orders for me. I'll wait for their eventual reduced pricing.

I liked wenwu but I thought the movie was horrible. The pacing is awful. Felt like three hours. Dialogue was really bad in some scenes. Action was decent at times. The third act is a very expensive mess. What they did with awkwafina was… I don’t even have words for that.
Overall I think I might get wenwu. Let’s be honest it was his movie anyway.

Why send people to kill someone you don't want killed?

"I told them they couldn't kill you."

What?

Just got back from the movie and thought it was great. Maybe not at the very top tier of Marvel, but certainly stronger than the more formulaic movies like Black Widow thanks to the fantasy element and much more emotionally compelling family story.

Will definitely be ordering a Shang-Chi figure now.

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Probably one of their best "origin" character movies so far. The trailers for this movie really did it no justice.

....It's the rings and rings effects. He literally uses them in nearly all trailers and tv spots. Not sure what's more surprising, that people aren't aware of something so obvious or that hot toys bothered to hide it when marvel have gladly been displaying Shang using them in action
Some of us have actually been avoiding trailers and TV spots (and even movies news articles). I watched the teaser trailer once or twice, then went into the movie blind. I've learned the official trailer (and subsequent videos) has too many spoilers for me, so I don't watch them anymore until after I watch the movie. There was a time when I had to know every single detail going into a movie, but nowadays, I like discovering all that as I watch the movie rather than before.

In any case, I saw the movie today and thought it was fine. Much better than the teaser trailer made it out to be, but a middle of the road MCU movie. It was like Marvel's take on the HK martial arts movies I saw as a kid, but I found myself wishing it were more squarely in that genre (without the typical Marvel CGI-fest). Don't think I'm picking up any figures from this line though (despite some amazing head sculpts, especially for Tony Leung).

Haha same! I don't typically watch trailers and like to go in fresh to a new film, so as for it to surprise me.
