Really looking forward to this guy. Gonna have to get 2 for my set-up. Are they making two versions of these, or just this one? I thought someone said something about another version a while back.

Been waiting out for HT to do both Han and Luke in Hoth gear. Been holding off Sideshow version all these while.
Since now HT is dipping into ESB, hope these 2 will be made. For HT, I'm only keen on figure with a human face sculpt as that is what they are good at.
Happy with my Sideshow Snowtrooper so not in a hurry to add another one from another make.

Agree with you on the Snowtrooper, the Hot Toys one will have to be pretty good for me to spend more $$$ on this character. But I'm happy with my Hoth Luke. He blends in nicely with HT figure. Even feel his likeness is better than Bespin or Farmboy Luke. Han would need an upgrade, but just the head. Probably when they get to making Bespin Han.

But it is pretty funny how people say "waiting for HT..." on a Han and a Luke when the Han and Luke HT already did are middling at best, possibly less than middling on the Han - check the HT Han thread to see what a farce that thread has become since Jnix's head came along to blow away Ht's effort - and check the Luke thread for the literally endless "Tom Cruise" jokes and the "looks better in hand" responses.

The fact of the matter is, to me SSC's sculpts are much better likenesses but have less sculpt detail and mediocre apps, and HT has vastly superior paint apps/sculpt detail but with middling likeness (usually with a "sweet spot" under certain lighting where the likeness kicks in.) Leia aside, HT has not been kind to SW fans with their sculpts compared to other licenses.

Fortunately many on here confuse ultra-realistic finish/detail with accurate likeness so most are fairly happy with HT's offerings... until a sculpt like the Jnix one comes along that is.

I love my SS snowy and will be happy to have this HT version along side him. 2 slightly variant snowtroopers and a Commander will be dope!

Haven't seen a Jnix Han Solo sculpt yet but I am in agreement that HT Han's sculpt isn't that dead on as I would have like. But there are none other that comes close at that point of time. So HT still set the standards and that is what they did.
We have seen many times a mediocre sculpt come alive with some very good paint apps (ie Hasbro's Count Dooku) and that is one area Sideshow is falling short of - as you have also mentioned. If I am a skilled facesculpt painter, I'd go for Sideshow Luke/Han Hoth and not be "waiting" for HT to do their version ... if they ever does. Since Sideshow's version is already asking for HT's prices, I'd just wait up patiently for the (HT) fat lady to sing.
