I just got a SSC snowtrooper this week.

I knew that this was going to be released, but somehow I love the "man in a suit" vibe the old SSC snowtrooper has... for me the only improvement the Hot Toys clearly makes is the eyes on the mask.

I am pretty happy with SSC's, an impressive figure for a 2012-2013 release.

I just got a SSC snowtrooper this week.

I think those saying the HT puts the SS to shame are over exaggerating just a weee bit.. Is it better looking, yes, but it's to be expected with natural improvements over time since SS's version is like 4 years old now and was $55 cheaper. I am glad I never bought the SS, but not sure I'd upgrade if I did. Not sure if I want to bite on this yet either. Still need to get a Sandtrooper 1st. Was waiting for either the HT regular orange commander to go on some sale, or to see the HT white pauldron Sergreant 1st. Although I'm still inclined to go with the orange since I have a Marmit Sergeant. Also I think I'd rather wait for a Snowtrooper commander as well..

I have the perfect solution: buy the E-Web Cannon and have one Snowie man the gun. :yes

I love the two pack but no need for Battlefront fig as I don't play video games. I'll grab the ESB version call it a day....wait for the commander to follow soon (hopefully)

Cant believe the price of the two pack, works out to $180 a piece, cant remember when a HT fig was under $200, definite buy

The battlefront pieces are optional though, no? comes with all the reg stuff too

That's great - I just go by how they looked in the movie and they must have left their oven mitts in the ATAT kitchenette, because they just wear regular scale gloves.

Wow, what a difference! It's funny because the Sideshow snowie always looked pretty good to me. But seeing it next to the HT one brings it to shame!

All along I've been thinking I wanted the commander over the regular. I always liked how clean and crisp he was compared to the weathered trooper. I always liked the smooth face mask best. But some details on the commander like the boots and the lack of backpack make me lean towards the trooper now.

While the SSC helmet is indeed s**t (dome's okay, rest not,) that comp pic is not at all fair. The HT is very realistically posed in a crystal clear pic while the SSC seems to have had no effort at all - hence the cartoony "doll" look, along with poor resolution.

When you look at the individual armor pieces, the SSC is actually pretty close to the HT, though the forearm armor is better scaled on the HT. Despite that, the pouches on the SSC are more accurate and the SSC boots look more realistic and to me are a slightly better sculpt.

Wonder if the flight stand has the same socket as the regular stands, so you can insert a normal upright instead?

I actually sold my SS Snowtrooper awhile ago, got a good offer for it and I can't say I regret it after these pictures.

I sold mine as soon as we saw the first HT pics. It will more than cover the cost of this superior effort!

These look fantastic. The only thing I'm wondering is if the Battlefront versions will have a different box and box art. I'd rather have the ESB version but in a 2 pack. I'm guessing the figures will be exactly the same but they will have a different designation. VMS rather than MMS.

Picked up the two pack and used 113$ in rewards(Thanks partially to the Spooktacular thread) 257 for both feels great to me.

Hmm the two pack is a pretty good deal but not sure if I want to drop that much on Snowtroopers or if I just want a single for now.
