Hot Toys Snowtrooper

Had two codes saved but neither took; ended up using $100 in points to knock the price of the two pack down. I definitely see these going the way of ANH Stormtroopers as far as second hand sellers. I'd grab it now while you can.

Retail is pretty reasonable compared to other recent releases. I'm picking up a few of these, love hoth and the snowtroopers! That damn commander though Would have been such a nice addition to the display if sideshow would just leave well enough alone.

Yeah I was looking forward to getting two regulars and the commander. Now with the Sideshow version I do not expect a Hot Toys version for years, if ever. So I guess I am just getting the 1 regular trooper now.

Something else to consider for folks that are on the fence regarding the 2-pack is that It looks like the troopers are different heights in the set, It's a theme they have stuck with in every trooper 2-pack.

It's nice way of preventing them from Looking like clones.

Doesn't look like it. What you perceive to be taller is simply in the foreground.

I don't think so. The one on the right is clearly shorter. You can see the height difference, and the thighs look shorter on the short one as well. It's slight, but it's definitely there. They did the same thing with the First Order officer 2-pack, and the ANH Trooper 2-Pack, I'm not sure about the First Order Snowtroopers. The figures in the pic I linked are so close that any foreground background issues are negligible.

I'll be the first to admit it if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. We'll know for sure soon.

Agreed. If they were the same height and standing next to each other, you shouldn't notice a difference.

The identical scuff marks and lack of two normal stands killed the two pack for me. I would like two snow troopers with different weathering and on normal stands. I don't want two identical troopers with one dynamic stand and one normal stand.

Yeah but the two pack has that sweet looking blaster rifle too! I'm hopping HT releases that in another set that will get parted out, or the blaster rifle from SSC's exclusive IG-88 (it's the same BTW) gets parted out somehow.

I went back and forth on the ESB vs the Battlefront versions. Ultimately I decided it's a little less expensive to get the regular which I want to represent ESB. As much as I love the Battlefront Jumptrooper HT made, I have multiple Stormtroopers of various kinds and I only want one OT Snowtrooper.

I feel that the weathering is a trivial issue -- it doesn't take much skill to alter* one of them just enough. As for the stands, depends on your M.O. -- I don't use 'em so it's a non-issue for me, but I can see how it's vexing for those who do.

*And if you don't want to alter the figure, posing/positioning can hide identifying marks so they don't look identical.
