If that was what came in the box, it would be fantastic. However magic-8 ball says........

Well we'll see I guess. Their track record has been a bit patchy of late with Obi Wan for example. Let's hope the backlash there has made them pick up their game on sculpts coming next.

Headsculp might turn out like this due to licensor's demands.
Prototype means nothing as far as I understand.

The portrait feels secondary on this figure, honestly.

Kinda wish they hadn’t included it and instead thrown in a belt, ammo pouch, medic bicep armor, and E-22.

At the very least, make a deluxe version with those. Wouldn’t have been difficult.

Surprisingly, HT seem to be very shy with Star Wars troopers variants. You would think they'd jump at the opportunity of simple repaints like this one or the shore trooper. Yet, besides Gold, Silver and what not stormtroopers, they are not going for it.

It’s unfortunate they massively overproduced the TFA trooper variants.

I believe that’s the primary reason they’re really conservative with trooper variants and production run sizes.

Production run sizes are dictated on pre-orders by customers or secondary sellers. Hot Toys don't sell directly so aren't burnt at all by the number of TFA troopers. Secondary sellers yes.

That said yes HT have a better feel for what they should put up for pre-order and what not.

I agree that the general size of a run is in broad part dictated by the number of pre-orders from customers and retailers. But I do think they base a full production run size on general interest as well.

And everyone involved in the TFA launch process sorely overestimated demand. Whether that was retailers ordering too much stock, or Hot Toys producing too many figures.

I do believe there is a correlation between the smaller number of additional figures they seem to produce now over the initial pre-order allotment and that debacle.

And while it's true retailers bore the brunt of the financial burden incurred by the TFA trooper overstock, I don't think Hot Toys escaped completely unscathed from it.

There are no officers, just visual variations of Mudtroopers (a.k.a. with pouches, one or two belts), except for the medics with the white bicep (they're show on the official guide, not sure if there are any onscreen). The rifle is the same E-10 (Muddies can also equip E-11 and E-22).

Damn, you certainly know your stuff on troopers. Whatever the other trooper is, he looks cool. Still think he'd make the perfect Con exclusive.

Consider the fact that Hot Toys released Director Krennic was truly a miracle, but I wouldnt say the same for these Solo's troopers, especially look at its disastrous box office.

I’m pretty sure having the SW license commits HT to release a number of figures for each film. Troopers are probably the safest seller.

Agreed. And it’s hard to commit to a young Han without young Lando to put with him. But the decision would be made easy had they put Lando up last year.

Perhaps SDCC will be the big Lando reveals. And Bespin Han.

I think SDCC is a safe bet. But going off previous reveal scheduling, we should be seeing Bespin Han quite soon since its been 9 months since he was teased in Bespin Leia pics. Although this might just be conjecture. The next SW reveal should also be a bang considering these past weeks have been dominated by Marvel.

Well these are all done. Wonder what's due next ?

Must be about time for one of these. Patrol Trooper is out. Mud trooper must be close.
