So basically you don't have an answer? It's silly for retailers to give out rewards points before the window on returns closes because for sure some people will gain and use the points then return the figure they "purchased" to earn those points. I am surprised someone would complain about that policy. Kinda like those complaining about sideshow closing to loophole that allowed people to earn points on gift cards

I know some places give points out right away and if the item is returned and points were already spent they will reduce the refund by the amount of missing points. I wish sideshow would do it that way.

Sorry, it just doesn't occur to me to be that dishonest/underhanded with retailers, especially ones I may deal with again in the future. And who knows, maybe they're not quite as suspicious of their customers as you'd be? But I guess you'd just say they're naive.

Sideshow spells it out in their policy, the points aren't final until the transaction is. They word it as innocently as possible, but it is there to remove any complication over spending points that aren't confirmed yours, weather by mistake of by deliberate abuse. Like most things in life, terms like this are typically borne out of bad behavior. Considering their volume of sales and the amount of dirtbags in this hobby (sell something on ebay, you'll find them), I can only imagine the whinging their CS people get on a daily basis. I'm kinda amazed their return and exchange program is still as forgiving as it is

Pretty sure i would do it the sideshow way if i was selling these things. It's just easier IMO.

I don't doubt that Sideshow's policy was a necessary reaction to bad experiences with shady customers, but when you're a loyal customer it can still be annoying at times. I can recall multiple times when I've paid more for SS Exclusive items rather than risk them selling out while I wait for reward points to become available, and other times I bought figures elsewhere even though I would have preferred to use Sideshow's payment plan but couldn't justify the cost differential.

So on Reddit, there is a post with the SB Mysterio and they're confirming that HT says there won't be a sculpt until they can figure out the rights.

Can you cap it? Does it mean we're getting Mysterio regardless, just minus a headsculpt?

"News from Hot Toys, confirmed by HT staff: Mysterio head sculpt WILL NOT be available unless they can figure out the rights for it. In that case, the head sculpt will be shipped along with the figure."

Along with the pic from Secret Base:

Very cool that they are doing him - although given that this is still two years away, I'll have to wait and see if I'm even still interested at that point.

The paint on the fish bowl is amazing.

The back and forth on the JG headsculpt has me feeling kinda down on this figure. If they release it sans a JG head, that automatically means I'm paying a lot more for the figure overall because I'll have to get one for it. As neat as this figure looks, all my figures are displayed unmasked and this won't really work in my display without a JG head (besides the fact that it was JG's performance that made me interested in the character).

And then there's the question of what I might have to modify to make a head work with it, depending on what they do under the dome.

If the inclusion of the head is still a possibility, it seems likely that HT would be proceeding with a design that would accommodate it. So that's the glass is half full outlook. On the other hand, with a 2021 release date there's plenty of time for them to delete it if it's officially out and cheaper for them to produce without doing so.

Agree and if the headsculpt was supposed to be included, then we are paying for a lot more. We only have 4 extra hands amd that's it... Hope if they cant get the license, at least we are getting something else to replace it.

Yeah when shown at Secret Base, it doesn't look like much as far as the total package goes. Also it's kind of crappy in the regard that the head was not going to change the price. But now with no head, they're not going to lower the price. Kind of a crappy deal in that way I mean. It's a higher cost figure with not much.
