You know that really helps. I think I needed another "Empire" fan to confirm the value of going with ANH iconics. I was starting to feel like I was cheating on my favorite SW movie by leaning toward focusing my figures on ANH. :lol I'm keeping my Fett PF preorder but otherwise it'll be pretty much icons from the first film until the TFA onslaught begins (unless Abrams massively drops the ball.)

Glad to help. :duff

I can drink coffee on a Friday morning and write about such pressing concerns. It's a good life.

Ain't that the truth.

I'm thinking of HT Star Wars like this. Stylised line up of icons.

That's essentially what I'm aiming at, maybe not DS dude or Tusken or Jawa. Although, I'd like a little light-up Jawa. At that size I could work him in. I have the SS Tusken which is quite nice but I could use that slot for someone.

In any event, a picture of this in 1/6th would be awesome for Star Wars 40th Anniversary in two years. That's right -- this thing's 40 years old!

One just needs to visit Chris (Chakaman) and Nate's (Natedog) threads to see excellent uniformed imperial bashes/customs. Threads on permanent subscription here.

Yeah. I remember when he mentioned he "did quite a bit of customizing". Then I saw his thread. Bit of an understatement, that. :horror

I don't think there's a more iconic moment in all the movies than Obi-Wan and Vader dueling on the DS while Luke and everyone else watches. In one scene you have: Ben, Vader, Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, the Droids, Stormtroopers, the Falcon, lightsabers, blasters, using the Force "run Luke run" and Death Star (interior) and everyone in their most iconic outfits. Darn near everything that defines Star Wars represented in that one sequence.

True! But as a child the film was all about Luke and Leia...hence the swashbuckling swing over the DS chasm being burned into my brain.

Yeah, I hated the way Lucas got Palpatine to jump about during ROTS light sabre battles - to me the duel between Vader and Ben in ANH is just the surface battle, I like to think of the real battle as being under the surface and involving force powers.

SSC needs to post up that monthly code so I can place my order on these bad boys :lol

The saber duels in the PT are symtomatic of the overall problems: hyper, desperate, CGI-reliant, too much going on for no reason or, worse, is contradictory (like the Jedi ability to jump or outrun blaster bolts but not fast enough to get to Qui-Gon or jump out of the beast arena - or the fact that the only junkyard on Tatooine (really, only one?) that has the only engine suitable for Qui-Gon (no one here can adapt another engine, not even R2?) and happens to be run by the only Force-resistant creature in the saga... just so we can have an extended pod race -- wouldn't Qui-Gon and gang just usurp the engine in the name of saving a planet and the Queen's life?).

And this was brought to us by a man who created Star Wars, just wait to see what the onslaught of new movies eventually brings us, with a mix of intermingled talent and multiple chefs cooking up new and better Star Wars ideas. :lol

Most folks probably can't imagine it getting any worse. ;) It's possible, but we just can't imagine it. Must be all the midichlorians.

Are the boots one piece or like the SSC ST are they split at the ankles. I always found it funny that the SSC Stormtroopers looked like they were wearing ankle cut disco shoes.

There's a break; you need to futz the armour slightly when posing to avoid a gap.

The actual costumes used painted Chelsea boots...i.e. ankle cut disco boots.

Totally do-able mod, but it doesn't bother me enough to alter them. Plus it'd likely be a pain sliding that cuff up under the shin armour and over the shank.

Not having these in hand, what I have in mind for when I do, is to dip the ends of the black body suit at the ankle into rubberized white paint.

Could work...I'd be a little concerned about durability but if you actually saw cracking that would also be screen accurate...
