Are there any pics of the Hot Toys Stormtroopers with the Sideshow Stormtrooper?? I'm thinking of picking up one and wondering how it would look with the Sideshow version.

SS on the left. I'm still looking to see a SS helmet on one of the HT figures, it looks like the color would be off but curious about the shape.

Thanks for finding that. They look pretty close, but the color and helmet are definitely a little different.

Hope these stay around for a little bit. I have a lot of stuff coming in March with the Hoth figures and Starlord finally starting to come out and not sure when I'll be able to afford them.

Star Wars is just too deep. To be fair, I'm unlikely to get most of the releases you named. I'm all about the armour.

It sounds to me like you need a 1:1 stormie and one day you won't be able to stop yourself from getting one.

[...] ZE-501 I keep hearing about this minimalist, art-deco interior designed living space so let's see it already. Post pics of that setup man! :lol

LOL...after the final touches on the renovation and my display area(s) get finalized, I'll post wider shots. It's not art-deco, by the way, that's an entirely different animal. ;)

hey, what is that? Was there really a trooper like that? That looks great.

That's an expensive experiment. :lol ... Often nicknamed "Mr. No Stripes" ... that is none other than the stormtrooper who stunned Princess Leia aboard the Tantive IV ... was also seen standing in formation in the hangar, firing on Luke and Leia across the DS chasm, and met his demise onscreen in the shootout during the final escape aboard the Falcon following Ben's death. Probably sighted elsewhere that I can't recall.

I'll weather it further, having removed the stripes today with the flat of an X-acto knife. Not sure if I love it yet but if not, I'll just replace the helmet to the tune of whatever exorbitant sum these are going for parted out. Sometimes modding takes cojones. :horror

If I was going to join the 501rst, yes. But since I have no time to do so, I'll likely just pick up one of the excellent prop reproduction buckets at some point. Probably RS or similar. A 1:1 helmet displayed with some Hot Toys stormies would be a sweet (and geeky) sight.

:clap for your awesome stormtrooper knowledge... and :clap for your sheer bollocks in doing what you're doing to your figure!

That looks so good! As many times as I've seen the movies, I don't think I ever noticed the lack of stripes on that particular trooper.

I must be a SW newb, but what the hell am I looking at with Mr. No Stripes? I really have no idea what the difference is. :lol

EDIT: NM. I stared at them long enough and figured it out. Wow. Really makes me appreciate the balls it took to mod the figure. Well done.

Here you go, very quick shots - the SS helmet didn't want to go into the neck post of the HT trooper and I didn't want to force it.

Awesome. Thank you! :duff
I moved the SS helmet down a bit to see a bit better (and looks like i accidentally photoshopped out a chunk of his head. whoops). The HT one clearly looks better from various angles but the differences in the helmet seem more subtle. The bigger improvement seems to be in the body.
