On the off chance that people watching this thread aren't in the Spacetrooper thread:
As I thought, the Hot Toys is over-scaled; I can't find my digital callipers but using a measuring tape, it looks like:
via RPF: ...length (not including stock or sling loop thingies): 18 1/32". (Sterling SMG)
Converted for 1/6 should be 7.63cm.
I haven't measured the SSC as I don't have one to hand right now, but HT comes in at about 7.8cm or a hair under.
SSC may have got it right***
EDIT: found my digital measurements...
SSC E-11 is 7.9 and HT is actually 8.21.
The SSC has a touch less bulk as well so while likely still over-scaled, it beats HT.
The slightly less bulky look of the HT DLT-19 may be more accurate, I'll measure length on that next.
It's looking like the recipe for the ideal 1/6 stormtrooper for obsessed nerds like me is:
- Hot Toys armour set.
- Re-worked and re-painted Marmit Sandtrooper (stunt) helmet.
- Body swap for natural posture.
- SSC E-11 blaster.
- Replace chest armour with re-sculpted Marmit armour for a more pronounced curve. (Haven't tried this yet.)
Off to Google MG-34 the DLT-19 is based off...okay...at 1/6 it should be 19.8cm long if the 501rst specs I found are correct...aaand...
20.4cm from muzzle to top of the butt. 20cm if we ignore the projection. So even though it's slimmer than SSC's it's still too long. Anyone have the SSC one handy??
And just for fun...the MG-34 that ships with the Marmit is....20.9cm at the top, or 20.5 for the shorter length.
