Some of us just bought this last week for $330 from PopCultcha. So $475 from a US retailer that really shouldn't jack up prices when stock gets low doesn't seem like that great a deal.

Does anyone familiar with plastics think these will yellow over time? I know that the Sideshow troopers I own have not , up to this point. Is the Hot Toys armor the same plastic as Sideshow's as far as we can tell?

I noticed a difference in plastic between a couple of the stormtrooper helmets i had, the back panel seemed more yellow on one. Others have said that's probably a different batch of plastic more so than any yellowing having actually occurred.

Here's the example of the two helmets. Left one has a pretty clear difference between the bottom section and top. Right you can see a difference in color too but in hand it's not as stark like the one on the left was.

Most plastics contain Bromine which is a fire retardant and the molecules bond with the plastics causing yellowing. Just keep them out of sunlight and heat to prevent it from happening.

It also depends if the HT armor was painted. And if the ABS has some UV protectant in itself or in paint (if painted).

For example one of the reasons I didn't get a RS Prop Masters 1:1 armor is that they use similar ABS to the old one and that will yellow in time - hope they will reconsider using UV protected ABS or capped ABS, even if not 100% accurate.

I'm supper happy I was able to score a two pack from a local toy store with no mark up two weeks ago. These are really nice!

I meant in-hand, enough to warrant me taking the photo in the first place, not as clear in the photo. Must have been the smokertrooper.
