Picked up a spare helmet; have begun the laborious process of stripping the surface weathering away with rubbing alcohol.

I wouldn't put it past Hot Toys to release the Stormtrooper with this helmet, either as ESB, Rogue One, or v2.0.

In fact, I *hope* they do.

The weathering is no picnic to remove and some will inevitably be left behind, but that's fine for a more Tantive IV look. I may add a touch of grey, towards that end.

Looks pretty smokin', overall.

TK-421 is at his post, now I have three Stormtroopers. :)

Lookin' good, man. I have my custom (HT stormie armour with de-weathered sandie helmet on an S2.5 body); Stormtrooper Luke on the way, and will also get Stormtrooper Han.

Thanks. I wonder what extras they will give Han? Just the headsculpt?

This will be an awesome project when finished

for those with this figure in hand, do you think it would be possible to light the death star grate stands? watching the movie last night i really think some red light shining through the grate could set the figure off on display? I'm thinking of ordering a spare to stand try it?

thoughts?

Someone did this way back in the thread. Will try to dig up pics but it looked great. Here you are. Nice work, brentce!

I removed the grill piece from the base then pulled the dark grey sheet from under the grill. I used that as a template to cut a new sheet from very thin styrene sheet. The lights are changable LED strip lights. To prevent light bleed-through, I had to paint the inside of the base and grill flat black.

:clap :lol Awesome shots TonTon

OT wins! Finish him! :lol

Great pics, hardreturn, DBoz and TonTon! Repped. :duff

Thanks fellas!

End of the hazing session. Some of these are a real testament to the nice tight joints on the Hot Toys figures. And OT trooper definitely wins. Much easier to pose and the elbows on the TFA figure...:horror

Thanks for the rep, YFB! These last ones are for you. :lol
