Re: Hot Toys - Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Luke Skywalker (Force Projection) - SPECULA

Which thread am I in?

It seems like any thread for sequel figures is where a select few like to spend their time trying to tell people why the movie is bad.
God forbid we want to... you know, just talk about the figures.

How about if we don't like a film or the character/etc... we just don't buy that figure, and let people who are interested in the figures talk about them? :D

Everyone seems to be throwing AOTC under the bus (I saw it once back then, liked the Jango/Kenobi battle and that's it, and have had zero desire to see it since) but you have to give it credit where its due - adjusted, it IS financially roughly in the same ball-park as TLJ.

I have been doing these quite detailed anlayses and projections on big films because even Deadline and BOM don't quite get the full picture, jumping on the "Billion!" bandwagon without really getting it (the same pattern you see with release after release.)

As much as I disliked TLJ, quality-wise I would definitely not place it on-par with AOTC or any of the PT, even from a technical perspective. Making AOTC's adjusted billion even more shocking.

I know we're always at odds but I'm genuinely impressed. I've never seen any site or poster who was able to spell out the code for determining those inflation multipliers. :clap :rock

I've often wondered the adjusted for inflation *global* totals but sites like boxofficemojo always just show domestic for some reason. They should hire you. :)

Here's another question. When I pull up Attack of the Clones on boxofficemojo.com and change the total from "Actuals" to "2017" it gives two domestic amounts: $464,469,500 (Domestic Total Adj. Gross) and $477,473,400 (Domestic Lifetime Adj. Gross.) Are you thinking the second amount is due to a re-release? I can't think of any time that AOTC got a second run that would have earned over $13 million additional dollars. I know it had that one IMAX run with a bunch of scenes cut out but I thought that was also during the summer of 2002.

This feels like a perfect Convention Exclusive. It'd be pretty barebones, screams for a specialized white base with the red accents just not under his feet. I would bet good money we'll see it this summer and that it'll sell out.

What world do you live on where the people that hate this film are just some vocal minority and bit atleast half of the people that saw it?

I didn't say that only a vocal minority dislike it. In fact, I didn't say anything about what amount of people like it or do not. I said that there are a number of people in these forums that seem to frequent any sequel trilogy figure thread, just to talk about how trash the new movies are.

That part doesn't make sense to me. If people don't like the new movies or the new figures, that's totally cool. But why spend your time in a thread for a figure you have no interest in, and just post about how much you hate xyz?

For example, I'm not a fan of Jyn's character at all, but I'm not going to spend my time in the thread for her figure trash talking it or the issues I had with the movie. And I'm certainly not going to endlessly comment in one of those threads telling you why you should dislike that movie if I dislike it lol.

I'll bet you if someone started ranting time after time in the ROTS Anakin thread about how **** the movie is and why it's bad, and la de da - a lot of the people doing the same thing in the ST figure threads would be annoyed and say something along the lines of "then why even post here". It's the same thing.

I just remembered in RotJ, Yoda vanished with his clothes!!! He must have been a force projection!
Yoda isn't dead! And he used force lightning, a Sith trait, omg!!!

Plus he burned the Sacred Texts! You might be on to something!

Re: Hot Toys - Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Luke Skywalker (Force Projection) - SPECULA

Well he tried to...

Maybe the sacred texts are a force projection too :panic:

Or maybe the whole movie was a force projection... :rotfl

You know what I think will happen in Episode 9.......

Being that it's already established in Last Jedi that force ghosts can interact with the living world, Luke can still have a lightsaber duel with Kylo.
