But then a few months later they release a better version that actually looks like Harrison and then ANOTHER one a year later that has wonky PERS eyes.

And fans will buy all three.

SS does the same thing what's the big deal (clones, Luke's etc) :dunno Buy what you like pass what you don't like...

No they don't. SSC, to date, hasn't remade a single figure. They put out different versions, and variants, but not like HT who release a figure and then release the same with googly eyes, a light-up stand and pretty box and label it as a DX. Do your homework. ;)

Im excited to see what actually gets announced i would love some higher quality star wars stuff for sure.Be it SS or HT i just hope certain figures get announce soon like Boba Fett etc.

The thing is Sideshow has an alliance with Hasbro. So can they do the same thing with Star Wars as they did with Terminator?

Good question. Things in Asia seem to be different when it comes to licensing. For instance we had 2 asian companies and one american company making Batman figures in the same scale all at the same time. How does that work? :lol

Technically, SSC hasn't remade a figure but making minor adjusts to the clones and re-issuing as a new version is no different than HT re-issuing Joker, Terminator's etc with minor adjustments calling them something new. Semantics really :dunno

Not really. It's not the same thing at all. The clones are different characters. TDK Joker and DX01/TDK Batman and DX02? No. Same figures reissued with googly eyes, light-up stand, few extra accessories and a pretty box.

Yep. Sith Anakin is just Anakin with new eyes and a different stand, same as those so called DX upgrades.

I can semi-agree with that, though it was a Con Ex, and not a re-issue/re-release. But the clones, no.

Yea completely agree with you. And really with things like the first hot toys joker HT admitted that they only had concept art etc to work from and the end result was not like the movie. So they remade it because fans wanted a more movie accurate one. Was it a money grab IDK? Did it make them more money yes yes it did.

Both companies have short comings but no one is perfect we are all only human. Both companies have figures that I love.

Only good things should come of this announcement i would think :)

I don't care what Hot Toys makes, Gentle Giant will always be the 1/6 Star Wars king...

So what's the excuse for DX02? :dunno :lol

This is true. HT often remakes figures in v2 or even v3, honestly their Bank Robber Joker came with a head specifically to replace the fumble from working with conceptuals for their Joker v1. Their Clark Kent did the same. The Superman 2 in 1 was a remake of both the figures before with better headsculpts and materials. SSC hasn't done that.

Hasbro owns the rights to Star Wars like Indy and the Joes (I believe), they lease them to Sideshow which is why you see their logo on the boxes. Sideshow then leases their holdings to HT, which means you'll get all three logos on the boxes I'm sure but its all related and still falls under Hasbro's ownership. Hasbro owns the NA rights, whereas Medicom owned the Asian rights for the 1/6 and apparently still does.

It isn't the same thing. SSC updating Clones and putting them out is still a different figure. We haven't gotten a Clone redone, we've gotten actual figures with names like the 2 pack for example but it isn't a straight rehash of the previous. Whereas HT just simply does it, Medicom does it two look at their Rocketeer v2 and then v2.5.

Yep. Sith Anakin is just Anakin with new eyes and a different stand, same as those so called DX upgrades.

Sith Anakin was an SDCC exclusive which is a variant made specifically for a show and separate from the line itself. HT does show variants too but the difference is that they do "redos" into the actual line itself as well with their v2s....

I just hope this becomes true, it would be really amazing, but won't hold my breath on it.

Move on...:)

Well they remade the suit yes but they also added the option to display him as he was in the China scene so they made the suit overall better and made another display option so even if you had the first one you could display this one differently. Again its a business to make money and their are only so many batman figures they can make. They improved from the first sculpt plus added a different look. There have been many luke releases but none overlapped. This batman offered a new look or the original look for people that still wanted that.

So they basically released an inferior product, then re-released it with improvements. That's what you're saying. As a matter of fact, they were so eager to milk the fans on a re-release they didn't even cure the suit right. Not even when the re-re-released it for the DCD run. :lol

Honestly, if this just turns out to be Chewie and the droids that'd be great.

Still, I'd take another ANH Luke and Han... and especially Leia. A DX Jedi Luke sounds like a great idea, if you can combine all the Endor and Tatooine gear in there as well.

Well if you look at any companies releases they get better over time. So they had time to learn how to make a better batman 1/6th suit. I really never think that HT specifically releases a gimp product. I more so see them realizing they can do more after a release and then giving us that.

If you don't like that (which it appears you clearly do not) either A) do not buy them or B) wait a bit for whatever release you think is best.

No one is forcing you to like HT or buy what they release

Something I secretly never wanted to happen... I'm going to be poor and out of space very soon.
