I presumed you were as you quoted my post, which has no frame of reference really as it was merely answering the question 'why are you here?' posed by 'The Josh'.

Plus, I am a HT Fanboy. :D

I like them as well and am the first to admit they generally do make the best 1:6. But I wouldn't discount other companies either. They all have their high points and low points and even an obscure company like Amok Time can release gems from time to time.

Completely. I tended to give up on Medicom years back as their quality is not great however I recently purchased their Tetsuo and they knocked it outta the park.

I just find all this 'fighting' laughable and getting way out of control. A mod should either close/delete/implode both this and the Indy thread and start a fresh one.

Same ____ will happen there. I think this thread needs to stay open as the topic will just pollute other threads with the "Wish SS would just hand this over to HT" or "Can't wait until HT takes this over!" trolling in the Sideshow product threads anyways.

As for Medi, I agree. The Akira figures are all kinds of awesome. They tend to do an awesome job on the Anime/Japanese inspired stuff. The rest though is just overpriced crap.

Same thing will just happen in the new threads. . .

--edit: Damn you, Nam. 3rd time this ____ has happened this morning  --

That Kaneda jacket was garbage on the Medi figure, by the way, but the head was fan-freakin'-tastic. I kind of wish I had kept mine.

OK...I have been a little busy so am just now stumbling on to this thread. At first, I thought that a few of these overly reduntant threads had been merged because there are already nearly 340 posts in a one-day-old thread. Then it began to seem to me that, instead, it has turned in to just another of the excuses to get into another elementary school hate Hot Toys/hate Sideshow bleedfest.

Come on y'all. I didn't read every post but if this is what has been going on for 330+ posts...can't we all choose to take a step above this dumb ____?

Now, back on topic...it would not surpise me to find out that Hot Toys might have gotten the Medicom license. I quit collecting Medicom, but hasn't it been a while since their last release? If I remember correctly, R2-D2 and C-3PO are their last efforts and they shipped a while ago, didn't they? And aren't they warming the fail shelf?

And Hot Toys has always said they want Star Wars.

In my head...we get the best of both worlds if Hot Toys AND Sideshow are doing Star Wars. I am not likely to collect Hot toys because considering what the price range of their figures is now and then tacking on the LFL license...I would ALMOST bet that the price of Hot Toys Star Wars figures would hover damned close to $200.00 per. I would get them if I had the money, but with my love for both the Sideshow Star Wars and GI Joe lines...I have enough on my plate. And I would not switch to Hot Toys outright because I want everything to match...including the boxes...sorry, I am just retentive that way. And I would have to laugh my ass off if the Hot Toys figures ended up coming out at the same scale as the Medicom ones. I don't hate on that myself...but it is an issue with a few of the characters such as Darth Vader (I think it actually works for some characters like Luke, Boba Fett, Jango Fett, and Leia, if they did her).

I am not anticipating that Hot Toys is getting the Star Wars license. But the last line of that news release is compelling enough to make me watch and see what happens.

And given the Bat Pod and Tumbler...:)

To me, at the very least...it is fun to think about.

Totally agree but it would start all over again. Not certain why such loyalty to toy companies but it is insane. Sure I like HT better however, if SS or Medi puts out a product I like I buy. Big whoop.

I'm already pretty choosy about which figures I buy from Sideshow. IF this happens, I'll have to knock even more figures off my "must have" list.

I'll put it this way: if HT had been doing the SW line all along, with their regular HT prices, I would only have about 10% of the figures I've gotten. The rest would not have made the cut. I would sacrifice important characters like Leia, Obi Wan, Anakin and even probably Luke.

Hopefully it's like some are speculating: HT will handle the tougher figures like Grevious and the droids, etc., and leave the figures built on the buck body to Sideshow. Otherwise I simply can't afford to go forward in this hobby! :(

Probably because it is the busiest and most active, first with the info forum on the web for 1/6 scale discussion.

I don't own a single SS piece but this is my forum of choice.

It should really say in the rules when you sign up to not bother if you are interested in HT, or rather you will constantly get berated for doing so by people who don't like them as much.

I'd lurk then or at least be respectful to other members who collect the product you think is "below" your fave.

As far as the rules its about respecting anothers viewpoints and what they collect. For many thats an issue cause they get pretty damn hateful.

This is a SW HT Thread..... Question is why the element that dislikes HT and their collectors are here :dunno

Its not that and thats not what I said. :slap

Its not their collectors or the product. Hell, I currently own All the Iron Man figures and busts (except Black Widow), Wolverine Origins, TDK Batman, and TDK Joker V1. I have Ghost Rider on order, Mark IV, and 2 Mark VI figures. Not to mention have had pieces like Dutch, Predator from Predator, Hellboy, and Sniper from their Military line. Plus probably a couple others I'm forgetting.

So I'm a pretty big fan of the amazing work they do.

I like them as well and am the first to admit they generally do make the best 1:6. But I wouldn't discount other companies either. They all have their high points and low points and even an obscure company like Amok Time can release gems from time to time.

I think the distinction is in criticizing the product vs. the collector. Someone can say "Sideshow is overpriced crap" without being disrespectful to those who collect Sideshow, no?

An updated Jedi Luke and ROTS Anakin right out of the gate would be cool, especially since it would mirror the original SSC releases of the flagship Jedi from each trilogy. A new Mace with Sam Jackson sculpt would be cool too.

No, I don't think so. As a collector of a product that is said to be crap I'd be a bit irked that someone insinuates that I collect crap. Folks should take the time to actually explain why they don't like something. Could just be me though.

A scat collector might take offense to that as well. :huh

I just want these two for now...from TESB:thud: :monkey3

Meh, Sideshow can do the armoured characters well enough (realizing of course that HT had a hand in their development). I'm more interested to see what Hot Toys can do with Chewbacca, or any human character for that matter. I want to see some dead accurate likenesses!

HT only helped develop the body, which is the weakest point of the armored characters. :huh
