OK...I have been a little busy so am just now stumbling on to this thread. At first, I thought that a few of these overly reduntant threads had been merged because there are already nearly 340 posts in a one-day-old thread. Then it began to seem to me that, instead, it has turned in to just another of the excuses to get into another elementary school hate Hot Toys/hate Sideshow bleedfest.
Come on y'all. I didn't read every post but if this is what has been going on for 330+ posts...can't we all choose to take a step above this dumb ____?
Now, back on topic...it would not surpise me to find out that Hot Toys might have gotten the Medicom license. I quit collecting Medicom, but hasn't it been a while since their last release? If I remember correctly, R2-D2 and C-3PO are their last efforts and they shipped a while ago, didn't they? And aren't they warming the fail shelf?
And Hot Toys has always said they want Star Wars.
In my head...we get the best of both worlds if Hot Toys
AND Sideshow are doing Star Wars. I am not likely to collect Hot toys because considering what the price range of their figures is now and then tacking on the LFL license...I would ALMOST bet that the price of Hot Toys Star Wars figures would hover damned close to $200.00 per. I would get them if I had the money, but with my love for both the Sideshow Star Wars and GI Joe lines...I have enough on my plate. And I would not switch to Hot Toys outright because I want everything to match...including the boxes...sorry, I am just retentive that way. And I would have to laugh my ass off if the Hot Toys figures ended up coming out at the same scale as the Medicom ones. I don't hate on that myself...but it is an issue with a few of the characters such as Darth Vader (I think it actually works for some characters like Luke, Boba Fett, Jango Fett, and Leia, if they did her).
I am not anticipating that Hot Toys is getting the Star Wars license. But the last line of that news release is compelling enough to make me watch and see what happens.
And given the Bat Pod and Tumbler...
To me, at the very least...it is fun to think about.
