They have a serious aversion to taking risks. Or maybe they just don't like certain characters and see our business as a way for them to make the figures they want to make. So either it's commercial cowardice, or it's artistic arrogance. Either way, handing them the keys to the kingdom would likely see a kingdom with radically fewer toys than what Sideshow is capable of (presumably on account of their near reckless willingness to take risks, and their appreciation for te desires of their fan/customer base).

So, in your mind, Hot Toys is the one with a serious aversion to risk, and Sideshow is the one with reckless willingness to take risks??

Do you really believe that Hot Toys is going to take over the line?? I LOVE what Hot Toys is doing, but even I don't believe they're taking over the line. It just doesn't make sense.

I clicked on the bold I in your post. I thought it was a pm.:lol

I think that is where Hot Toys clearly beats Sideshow.

And in relation to the discussion taking place, that doesn't diminish their (Sideshow's) products by any means, it's just a different artistic approach which happens to be considered "superior" by many collectors. Just a personal taste.

In the end it's a matter of having options, so if this news really turn out to be true, we will all win IMO

Totally agree. The other area where Hot Toys excel is clothing. As others have already posted, the dream scenario is that Hot Toys do figures that Sideshow wont be able to..... Grievous, Chewie and 3-PO.... And then put out core characters that Sideshow have already had a go at. Hot Toys Jedi Luke is too exciting for words.

Respect.

Cross referential post I made right there based on the "What Happened to the Boards" thread. You must not be reading it. So nevermind and Good Day to you sir.

My 6-year-old daughter just walked around my computer and saw The Mike's signature.

She just pointed at it and said..."Ohhh...that's unbelieveable!"
