need help...I'm hesitating between this T1000 and the Present Toys version...but, like many, I have a fairly tight budget...so do you think that in terms of quality/price, the present toys does the job?

Id get the Hot Toys version. Will cost you a bit more but its a much better looking figure and is licenced. If we get what we are seeing in the promo pics and the figure that is in secret base then this looks a fantastic likeness to Robert Patrick.

I didn't even know that. I started to walk away from McFarlane when he released The Godfather which was slightly smaller in scale wit the new clamshell which I did not like. They started to use that new packaging with their sports line with noticable downgrades to sculpt and paint. I have not purchased a McFarlane figure since then.
Licences like The Office, Dazed and Confused and The Big Lebowski. Do they sound like Movie Maniacs?

I miss the glory days of Norman Bates, The Crow and Michael Myers all in the same wave.

I assume this is another Hamburger Face situation, where they didn't have Arnie's likeness?
It was licensed to the film as were all of the Movie Maniac line, so I’m sure they had to get approval in some form.

I think it just comes down to it being late 90’s / early 00’s McFarlane. If we look at what he produces now, not much improvements since then.

Does anyone know of any codes that’ll work on this?
I tried using the standard $25 off codes on SS but they don’t appear to be applicable.

This has been my thought process as well,
though I find myself second guessing.

Welp, thanks for mentioning that figure,
I also had that growing up. Certainly doesn’t help me say no to this now.

I remember also owning the T-800 version as well.

Also remember going to the T2 3D event at Universal Studios with my brother and our Granddad, where afterwards we went to the gift shop and I remember grabbing this, the figure with the coffin and some other things. Lots of memories here, thanks for reminding me of those man.

View attachment 735219So much nostalgia looking back,

Yup, I still have all of those. In fact I only removed that T3 boxset from display a few weeks ago! I've kept the Coffin figure out as a sole T3 representation because it still looks cool.

bought the first ever Michael Myers made which was from that line. I’m in my 20’s now so all of that hit me as a young kid and truly made my childhood.
Couldn’t get enough of that line back then.

I suppose I’ll wait a few days to think about this a bit more before deciding whether to grab it or pass,
may throw my expiring SS rewards at it. Looks like a thorough package, though it’s really missing that shotgun sculpt.

I already PO the Battle Damaged T-800,
and likely will grab the clean T-800 also.
The basic civilian clothing is a deterrent,
but looking at all of the possible display options,
I might not get bored of owning it.

I think you can very easily make this figure not look boring. Take for example the picture that uses the Donut head, the bullet squibs, the hook arm, the sword arm and the glitching boots - really maxing out on the liquid metal effects - not remotely accurate to any one scene in the movie but still quite beautiful looking.

I cut down on my MMS129 T-1000s by combining scenes or moments within scenes - my Galleria T-1000 has a full set of shotgun-hit squibs on him while aiming and firing his handgun. In the movie he only had a single shot to the shoulder while he fired the gun. I have a 'no no' wagging finger T-1000 also with shotgun-squibs on him despite the fact that they had healed up in the movie when he did the 'no no' gesture.

This is a figure that will get a huge benefit from a custom clothing run. Generic clothes like this with collars are always notoriously difficult to mass produce well, or at least for hot toys to do well. The white t shirt looks like a sweatshirt at this scale. Hopefully someone puts a run together in the future because the sculpt and accessories are awesome.

I dunno, if they made the white T-shirts any thinner they'd shred easily, especially if doing body-swaps and such.

I miss the glory days of Norman Bates, The Crow and Michael Myers all in the same wave.

Well, one initially assumed ''Movie Maniacs'' referred to the characters they were making - Michael Myers, Ghostface, Freddy, Jason, Candyman and so on - but then you started to get hero characters like T-800, Robocop, Hicks from Aliens and even someone like Jessica Biel from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake - I would hardly refer to those as Maniacs. So I think even way back then they were stretching the concept somewhat.

Mind you it's still weird seeing Dazed and Confused David Wooderson make it into the line! And I bought him! But just him, a novelty figure from a schoolyears favourite movie.

There was an initial prototype which was using Arnold's likeness but they were made change it to what we got. It's still a special figure to me. The first Terminator figure I got since the Kenner line. I later customised it with a NECA head.

I got a $20 off code for the Begins Batman after the reward points hit my account but not for the FB2 Rambo. It might be something for select figures.

You only receive those e-mail codes 40 days after you receive the item.
Ahh, that explains it.
Appreciate the clarification Buff.

Too bad this year’s Spooktacular has been garbage, in total I think I’ve only been able to gather $13 in rewards, would love to get this guy under the $300 mark.

I'm definitely more keen for this than I ever thought I would be for a T-1000 representation. I think the smart move is to wait a little before pre-ordering though. I want to see the full reveal for the clean T-800, and some people "in the know" seem to think an endoskeleton announcement is inevitable and not far off, so there's going to be some tough decisions to make in terms of where to spend!!

That will absolutely happen,
LED eyes and die-cast parts, I can see it now.

That’s where my current dilemma is -

Already purchased BD T-800 2.0
Possibly getting the clean T-800 2.0
I have rewards that expire soon and might use them on this if the clean T-800 isn’t up for PO by the end of November.

Four T2 figures wasn’t in my plans,
no idea what to do.

The other thing about those Thank You codes is that now they're only good for 7-10 days and are only eligible for use on select in-stock items. It's only when you have one in your account and a new figure drops that you can use them on pre-orders, and typically only during the first 24 hours. It seems to be a quirk in Sideshow's system that allows their use, but they quickly close that loophole.

Ridiculous, truly.

We’re willing to tie up funds for a year and a half,
the least they can do is take care of us in little ways.

Yeah, they've really tightened the purse strings. BTW, there ARE other instances of being able to use Thank You codes on pre-orders, but those are typically slow moving ones that have been languishing on the site. If it's new and popular, they're not giving us any kind of discount.

I feel you. I guess the fact we'll have at least 12 months to pay them off softens the blow? Still a lot of money though!

I’d prefer Kit for HT due to him receiving stock faster, but the 30 day PO window, as well as no real payment plan option besides having to manually contact him, deters me.

Easy to forget you’ve ordered something if you’re not on top of it with the proper notes. I also like having the ability to sweet talk SS ambassadors into getting NRDs back if I want to cancel something.

I don’t mind the costs, the time given to pay these things off helps a lot. I’m more worried about what takes up space in my DF120.

I am limiting figures to nine total per DF120,
five figures upfront, four figures raised on the back half shelf behind.

For this DF120,
I believe my current plans are -

Upfront left to right :

- A new Xenomorph or Big Chap 2.0 if we’re to get one.

- AVP:R Heavy Weaponry Wolf Predator 2.0

- Clean T-800 2.0 with shotgun raised in the center

- T-1000 2.0

- Fully BD T-800 2.0

Back half shelf left to right -

- Artisan Sparrow if I can find one

- Art figures Artisan Rooted Edward scissorhands

- KP Maestro The Crow Eric Draven

- undecided / open for a new announcement.

The wagging finger hand being so overscaled is really glaring. I hope they fix that by release but I’m guessing they won’t. Did they reuse it from the first release?
