No silicone arm(s) on this either. And judging by the swap out Endo arm, we're back to single jointed, 90degree elbow bends on this :gah:
Well that don't make sense, the DX 13 has swap out arm for the battle damage and it has double bend. Why does hot toys love going backwards?

117 looks best with glasses, new one looks best without glasses. Poor DX10 🤣
I remember I bought the DX 10 head from toy anxiety back in 2019 and I thought it was horrible compared to the DX 13 (I never owned the mms117 to compare it to). He looked as orange as Donald trump compared to the DX 13 🤣

But I have to get this new one. It's been 13 years since the last T2 clean Arnold, and a 4.0 version of this may not arrive until after I die 🤣

Meh.

I wish they would've paid more attention to body proportions like they did with the Stealth Suit Captain America.

Not the best sculpt, would have liked to have seen a necked sculpt this time.

I like the amount of accessories but the glasses are off, the endo arm should be one piece, and the base looks cheap.

I'll buy it to upgrade over the DX10 but it's not the best they can do.

Here are my notes on the face: the nose is too big, and its shape needs to be fixed. Arnold's eyes are set wider apart, but the sculpt has them too close. The eyebrows are too close together and need to be fuller but that's probably a paint problem.

He says the eyes and eyebrows are too close together. Not so sure about that but I think what could be giving him that impression is the thing I'm talking about where you can see too much of the sides of his face in the frontal view. This kind of bloating out to the sides could be making the actual facial features look too close together.

When I look at the sculpt as it stands I think if you merely moved the eyes and eyebrows further apart it'd look an awful lot like MMS117 toadface. I think the face would also need to be vertically stretched if you were to do that.

But heck maybe that'd be the right thing to do anyway to keep the head in proportion with the neck and body. Keep the width of the sculpt as it is but vertically stretch it and redistribute the facial features.

Not that any of this matters. Hot Toys will likely release this as it is right now.

T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time but I'm going to stick with my MMS117 with all the DX10 accessories I purchased for it years ago. I basically have this now minus the new sculpt which would get covered by shades anyway... It still looks pristine after all these years.

In some pics the new sculpt really shines, and in others it has a bit of a sad look. I think I'm more bothered by the neck than anything about the face. A lot of head shape issues could be improved on if they sculpted the head and neck as one. I hate the sunglasses. I'm not a fan of the jacket either. I hope some tweaks can still be made there.

Not sure why they insist on that mediocre stand for this version of Arnie. It makes it seem like HT has decided that the BD version is the ultimate representation of the T2 T-800 and therefore needs a nice display while the black T-shirt or Cyberdyne versions are just other, less important versions.

A+ for accessories here. I think it's got everything you need for all the scenes before he starts getting all beat up.

I feel very petty for saying this but even if I could ignore the majority of it's shortcomings, the damn sun glasses are nearly a deal breaker.

Is InArt getting the Terminator liscence? Can't remember. Not that it would matter in my case. I've no interest in waiting 3-5 years for anything from them as it stands.

I don't know if its the lighting, but that line across his forehead is awful.
They did this with another figure but can't think for the life of me what it is. A huge horizontal dent in the forehead. Hopefully it's just lighting making it look so pronounced.

I'll probably get one because I really don't want to cancel my T-1000 order. At the same time I feel bad for accepting another half assed HT Re-issue.

What is the reason for not doing the head and neck as one piece? Articulation I assume but does he really need that at the cost of a huge hit to the likeness.

If InArt had a T2 Arnie in the pipeline HT would have produced something much better than this. They only try when really pushed these days.

Looking at it overall the proportions still don't look realistic. What am I getting over the DX10 I sold? The head does look significantly better without the shades on. With them on I'm not sure its even as good as the older figures.

Clapping like a circus seal for this. Just give me an Endo now and after that anything else Terminator-related in the future will just be an awesome bonus.

I'm okay with getting a new endoskeleton, the MMS33 is so expensive! It's the one I want the most. Design of T4 and Genisys are not as good.
