I think the edits look great and all, but imagine adding all the extra space between the nose and mouth on this pic:

Johnny put the gif on their facebook in response to their banner image. I don't know if it's the same for everyone but I have to specifically select ''newest posts'' in order to see it. At least the "leather" will last as I squirrel this away until a proper sculpt becomes available. I was anticipating buying this one but the sculpt is far enough off that I just can't display it as is and get any joy out of it.

That's the hope to cling to for when they likely release the sculpt unchanged. But given Hot Toy's past form for incorrectly shaped Arnie heads I will continue to suspect that it looks weird in many shots because it probably is weird and that shots where it doesn't look quite as weird are benefitting from the tricks and quirks of photography, intentional or otherwise.
Having said and done all this let me restate that these 3 new T2 figures are still a great entry point into the franchise for anyone who doesn't have the previous figures. And there is huge value across them - other than the DX13's liquid metal T-1000 statue you get everything from the previous releases. I don't want to put a complete downer on Hot Toys return to Terminator.

Looking at it again in GIF form I'm surprised how the width of the face doesn't change significantly, which had been my primary peeve. It's actually only a subtle narrowing of what was there with much of the slimming effect coming from the raising of the hairline and slight lowering of the jaw.

I’m holidaying in Egypt and just caught up with this thread.
I’ve gone from feeling underwhelmed by the announcement and POing purely for the sake of it to now seeing just how godawful HT’s sculpt really is and praying HT can make a-dev’s amendments or I’ll never be able to look at this thing with any sense of satisfaction.
The lack of a Fat Boy is also very disappointing. After Stealth Cap 2.0, so thought we might be done with these cheapo, lame af hexagon stands, but nope. HT gonna Ht.
So, who do I spam for an ounce of hope?

no matter, i'm gonna get this figure, i never got the early versions. i point out that a-dev made some awesome modifications! He knows Schwarzenegger!!
Putting these in spoilers in case any lurkers are getting sick to death of seeing it in this thread. Just gave it an overall cleanup today - no actual likeness changes. I started to notice all manner of mess and unclarity, remaining evidence of where I had dragged or stretched parts of the image so that things like hair strands and the shadows between them weren't lining up etc. It was also annoying me the way part of the jacket collar was moving in the GIF so I've remade the image to stop that happening. Now only the face and neck will change. Would someone be so kind as to remake the GIF with the latest pic?
And man I wish I had this exact shot but without the sunglasses. I'd love to know how those eyes would look with the restructured face.

Exactly. That’s the best look. A clean one, not BD preferably for me.
I knew I should’ve gone for a customized MMS238 figure that was being sold for a great price. It had a Geewhiz jacket with the correct colored buttons, a bigger body, more accurate to Arnie’s physique in T1 and a clean tee shirt. Stock headsculpt.
It was awesome. Would’ve held me over until INART or whoever made a modern day version.
