Maybe the person who has it doesn't now how to use that function? I know the regular BvS Batman's eyes look painted white unless you turn them on, and the official specs for this say it lights up.

I don't plan on keeping the light on so it doesn't bother me, but it still sucks.

The only problem is, when the helmet breaks, the eye light blinks then goes out completely for the remaining fight between batman and superman in the movie.

That bothered me at first but since I missed out on the regular version I like the idea of it having at least one light up eye.
Even if it's not accurate.
I like the look.

Yes! That neutral expression just makes it so dull. Battle damaged with a meh expression and likeness. However all the more easier to pass it on.

It's just a shame. It seems half-hearted - but more than that, there's a unliscenced version with the exact same sculpt, how the hell has Hot Toys done that exact same one, is there a likeness they have to specifically use?

I don't know which sculpt your referring to but I know of the two unlicensed sculpts by Creg_Customs.







The likeness is sooooo much better and even the closed mouth/somewhat neutral expression has a slight scowl. Yes, the price is ridiculous to get a Creg Customs head sculpt with custom painting, but I'm of the opinion that Hot Toys should at least have something close to this especially with the prices they're charging these days.

The Hot Toys sculpt is generic and empty. It barely looks like Affleck. To me it actually looks a lot like the old mms67 Dark Knight Bale sculpt. I don't get it. With all of the improvements over the years, you'd think they'd nail this. I get that it's a cash grab on their part, so ultimately I'm not sweating it because frankly there's a lot I've got on preorder for the coming year..

A neutral facial expression is probably more mass appealing, I guess.
I have the regular and black chrome armored bats with custom head sculpts, so I will buy this bd version without hesitation.

It kills me that they couldn’t get a angry face license from Affleck or DC . But I’m still excited about getting this guy . I may switch out the head with the original and pull off some awesome poses. It’s one of my favorite figures in my collection and the extra articulation is desperately needed .

Exactly. I’ve no problems with neutral expressions in general. In some cases it works, like Holland’s headsculpt for the upcoming Homemade Spidey figure for example. But For this release with the context of that scene and given the battle damage and the intensity like you mentioned, Hot Toys could have at least put a furrow in that brow. Just a little edge. Something.

To me the expression they went with feels as if it’s after the moment he decides to help with the Martha rescue. IE all the intensity and anger from that scene gone and down the drain.
