They lengthened the lower legs due to "short leg" criticisms from collectors. People also complained about the wheels sticking out the way they do on MP10...so I'm assuming they colored the wheel covers that way just to break up the blue so the legs girth is lessened, further adding more to the illusion of longer, slender legs.

I'm just assuming here btw.

It kills the design for me.

I would be really into this Hot Toys Prime if the head didn't look so goofy. Has there been anyone trying to make a custom replacement head for this?

Personally speaking, I had no issues with MP-10s aesthetics. I didn't see this "Stubby prime" some in the fandom saw, nor did I have any issues with the wheels sticking out.

Perhaps the guy that initiated this OS MP10 project was one of the people that didn't like the wheels sticking out and also felt his legs were "stubby" and decided to "fix" it as he saw fit.

Ultimately, it doesn't bother me. I hadn't realized his lower legs were longer until someone pointed them out. It isn't that obvious IMO...As long as it doesn't interfere with transformation, I'm cool with it.

All I care about is the fact I'm getting an MP10 that's slightly bigger than my OG MP01. Bonus, from the review vid, it's solid as **** and isn't a floppy mess! That's all that matters to me.

I can't wait to receive my two tomorrow.

never been a big fan of stands... but seeing some of the pix of this guy with the stand, it has grown on me! really like the PF statue look it presents when on the stand... gonna keep him on it for a bit.

also here's a couple shots with the new cannon I've been working on... not fully painted and detailed yet... been swamped with work and out of town past week or so w/ new design and new software training. but if all goes well, hope to have them finalized this week.

I really really like the pics!

What are you using for the black backdrop tho?

thanks! :hi5:

its just a black sheet i picked up from walmart... built a little frame out of 1/4" dowel rods and some desk clamps i 3d printed... it clips on at the top then runs down to the desk and rolls out flat on the desktop. cheap and easy but makes it great for clean pix w/ different backdrops, green screens, etc.

similar idea to this but smaller scale to fit on my desk work area...

Nice. I need to put together something like that for myself. My Bumblebee pictures would have turned out nicer without my kitchen being in the background! lol

So, according to TFW2005, the Megatron version of this guy has been announced as an "Asia exclusive".

thx! and for the rep! it's really not that hard and its super cheap. i have an advantage of ease w/ my printer.... but you could whip something together w/ some cheapo pvc pipe from depot. get like a 2" dia pipe or whatever suits your needs... cut it up in 3 parts, notch it for the table and at the top... glue it together and tape on a sheet... wham bam, instant easy backdrop setup for some nice pix!

here's a quick how-to i just whipped up... super easy and super cheap! enjoy

Omg... PVC that's great!

I've been using a paper curved like that in my photos but this whole time I've been taping it up against a box this is so much better :lol

Ha! Thx

Yeah the PVC is supercheap so it makes for some pretty inexpensive framing. Plus it gives you the option to use different colored sheets too for different effect. You also could drill a little hole in each end of the horizontal support big enough to put a pencil or a pen slid down into it from the top which would keep it all together and not have to glue anything. This way you could take it apart and store it out-of-the-way very easily.

Yeah I never thought of it like that... Thanks man, you got the mind going :lol

Use one of those "T" splitters for 2/3rds down the middle of each vertical post. Then there won't be any glue necessary.
Then an elbow "L" at the top of each vertical post, and slightly sand down the edges of each side of the bar that goes accross (horizontally ).
Place it in the "L" splitter and it will be loose enough to spin.
Then put a strip of edhesive velcro accross the top horizontal bar, and on any sheet you wish to use. This way it won't slide off.
Finally, the whole thing will be able to roll-up/down the sheet and be dismantled neatly.

I would also suggest using an "L" joint for the base, with extra pvc pipes attached. It will allow the rig to stand without any clamps etc.

Please forgive the 3rd grade cellphone image l took of my screen.
I did this in like 60 seconds because l know some people are visual.

I like the Velcro idea a lot :clap

Maybe make the bottom a T joint so the entire rig doesn't fall back on itself for being top heavy?
