Okay, this figure is based on THE FILM. And in THE FILM, the main character was always referred to as Eric Draven. If Hot Toys had produced a figure based on the graphic novel, he would then be called The Crow. But that's not the case. This is THE FILM version we're talking about.

THE FILM.

You're really grasping.

What about all the Predator figures that have ridiculous behind-the-scenes names prominently displayed on their nameplates? Those aren't featured in THE FILM... THE FILM, MY GOD THE FILM...

How about the use of T-800 on Terminator figures?

WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE FILMS?

Since more than one person became "The Crow", naming him specifically as "Eric Draven" is fine.

Maybe Hot Toys just wanted to avoid confusion for when they release their version of Ashe Corven! :lol:pigfly:

:lol yeah... eww...

I just hope for the remake figure.
Original adaptation does nothing for me really.

To be fair, Hot Toys didn't even get those right. Lost should've been Borg, Shadow should've been Snake, and Guardian should've been Gort.

But that's still irrelevant. Apples to oranges; your comparisons aren't even the same (and as for the T-800, that name was actually used in the film so I really don't know why you're bringing it up).

For The Crow, the IMDB cast list has the main character written as "Eric Draven" and the actual movie credits simply call him "Eric." Again, we're talking about the film here and there is no reason to call him The Crow if that's not even how the character was billed. If it were comic-based, then fine.

I don't understand why this is even a topic, who cares!!! They got it right, what else is there to say?

Has anyone seen the comments of this figure on the Hot Toys page? So many people hate the sculpt and are making jokes about. I have never seen a figure get so much hate for the sculpt except maybe the DX12 cowl and QS001 proto.

I have and there's way more people who are happy with it than the ones criticizing the sculpt who number maybe 4-5 out of 100+, Hardly "so many."

Besides, Brandon under a tun of makeup doesn't look like Brandon without it and I think that's the face everyone's trying to see in the figure.

Actually there are not many comments at all (another strange thing I have found) but only three people have said the sculpt looks like Brandon Lee. However, its not amount of people that say they don't like it, it's the comments they use to describe their feelings towards the sculpt like one person said smash that guitar over your face! Never seen those sort of comments on any other figures before. :horror

Re: Hot Toys The Crow petition

:lol:lol:lol

The nameplate says Eric Draven. It originally had The Crow but they changed it

Oh I know was just saying. It makes no sense to have the base say the crow and the nameplate say the crow. Lol
Plus he does have a name so why not put it on there .
