Hello everyone. I'm new here and this is my first Hot Toys figure. I absolutely love it, but like a lot of you, I'm not crazy about how the coat lays with the wiring inside. Can those of you that removed the wire post about how you did it. I'm very hesitant to start cutting away on the coat. Thanks.

Usually along the bottom, near the edge of the coat you can feel the end of the wire, just poke it thru the fabric & pull it out. Chances are it's poking thru somewhere anyway. :wink1:

Wow that sounds easy, thought it was going to be a pain in the *** to get that dam wire out!

I don't know for which reason people here have need to paint the lips black..brandon in the movie had red lips.. with shades of black
hot toys has taken the right decision...
I have no complaints with the coat ..with some futzing is perfect in my opinion...there's no need to take the wire out..
the pants aren't so good tailored and don't fit so well but I can live with it..
the body is not that good.. the physique of brandon is not there..
but with some futzing we can reach good results..the problems are the empty shoulders and the missing back muscles..

The black lips go with the clean make up of the figure.

After the tin tin scene I think his lips start losing the black. Also the outfit on the figure is from later in the movie. I fine with lips.

Thanks for the tip. I may be giving that a try shortly.

I agree with you on the lips. I think they look good with the faded black look, and it does match many of the later scenes in the movie very well.

full white make up = black lips via black lipstick, the outfit is from later on in the film,so the makeup on the face/eyes and around the mouth will be faded but the lines wouldn't go red.so its a mix of all scenes.but black lips suit it better with the full face makeup, thats my opinion.

yes you right chris but in the full makeup's scene the costume wasn't weathered ;)

btw tin tin clip..lips are red..sorry...

after the make up clip lips are red with black shades ever..
..btw is up to you if want the lips black...

The figure looks decent there but yeah I can see it doesn't have Brandon's physique.

no arguments about the lips turning red later (they appear black when he stabs tin tin?)as I said the figure is a mix of all scenes
BTW.brandons hair was brown,HT missed that one, great figure despite little nitpicks.

The dude was pretty built. Not stacked like Supes, but definitely not a shrimp either.

Ideally you'd want to have a body with enough sculpted detail that the figure would be displayable even without the shirt. That way, you can guarantee that with the shirt it'll be damn near perfect -- which it isn't. I'm still confused as to why they thought they could get away with using a simple articulated body on this. Eric was clearly topless for a good few minutes in the film and the shirt he wore afterwards was tight as hell. How the hell do you watch that movie and then make a figure with the awkward physique of a teenager? Especially when you already HAVE the molds for muscular bodies?

And yeah, hair's definitely too short. :lol That last picture... that's the comparison to make. That's the homerun figure if it were ever made. What bugs me is that HT's effort isn't really definitive and it so easily could have been.

I think you used the wrong term there because a shrimp implies that you are short in statue. U could be built like the Hulk but you would still be considered a shrimp if u were like below 5 feet tall for example.

At first it sounded like you were disagreeing with me but now it looks like you are saying Hot Toys did get the physique wrong because he is not muscular enough? :huh

Nevertheless, totally agree with all the points you made.

I usually hear shrimp associated with just a small, skinny-looking person. So I guess you're right on that too. :lol

And nope, I'm definitely agreeing with you. Just adding to what you were saying, they definitely got this wrong. And not to nitpick, but another issue with the hair that no one (or very few people) has mentioned is that it lacks volume. The figure's hair isn't anywhere near curly nor poofy enough. It just lies flat against the side of his face and that, combined with the inaccurate length, the poorly-tailored clothes, and the completely screwed body really rob this figure of the "vibe" it's supposed to have. For me, anyway.
I was just thinking back to the comic book and even though that version of the Crow and Lee's version look different, they still have an elegance to their overall look. Both hairstyles, although different, had volume and length too. Both had athletic physiques. Both have a certain spirit that they share.

...and then there's this.

They've lengthened the hair in the front since then, but all of the other issues still stand. It just looks and feels like a disproportionate toy.

Yeah I guess I could see that. ;)

Oh ok the fact that you were replying to my post with pictures and gong in depth about the physique I thought you were providing evidence to prove your argument. So that is why I got confused.

Yeah it does but that is also because the figure looks like it has a bobble head as well those points you mentioned. Still think it looks fine with the coat on though. :)

if the hair was shoulder length, the bobble head effect would vanish(as when I removed the neck peg and lowered the head),and it may even help the shoulders out.a leaner muscle body would have suited the figure more..

Re: Hot Toys The Crow petition

I removed the wire from the back of the coat and the arms. I'm already happy with the results. I might go back and remove the wire from bottom too. It's a bit more tedious.
