Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

i always envied people who can imitate metal weathering.
but is weathering really needed for T1 weapons and clips, coming straight from the shop, never used?

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

The Terminator didn't know how to take care of his weapons. He probably dragged them on cement in a hidden bag from the gun shop to the little room he rented out.

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

I don't think he rented that room. I think he killed whoever lived there and stayed in it with the dead body. That's why the landlord who knocked said "whaddagot in der buddy? A dead cat?"

Rotting body ="stink

I always thought the T800's skin rotting was the reason for the bad smell, but it makes sense that he would kill someone instead of paying for the room :lol

Ive heard people say this several times, but why are we to assume this? Is it ever mentioned in the movie that the T-800's skin "rots?"

That's always been my assumption as well, along with the Terminator itself just starting to stink from sweat and body odor. Reese said they had sweat, bad breath, the works. Why wouldn't they start stinking after a few days?

Re: Article: Hot Toys-The Terminator-MMS 238-T-800-(Battle Damaged Version) Collectib

I just said what I said because it's the most logical explanation. I don't think the t800 had money to rent a room. He sure didn't have any cash to buy any guns. Lol.

He was a machine with no regard for human life. That's all he cared about was his mission.

I guess because he was really pale, almost looking like a zombie and the fly was on his face. He just didn't look healthy :lol
Also, James's Cameron's 1982 treatment said, "it has to eat and breathe to keep the skin alive, though a lot less than us... and there's a little tiny heart and internal organs about the size of a chicken's in a recessed compartment."

Makes sense that the meat rots, but ahnold said in T2 in response to Sarah that his wounds heal right? Maybe depends on level of injury?

Oh, I'm sure he either killed who was living there, or just broke into an empty room. I can't imagine he walked in and asked to rent a room. I just never saw a body, so I never made that connection myself.

Yeah but how can the flesh rot in 1 hour after the car accident?

I figured after he crashed the cop car he went back to his roommates room for repairs.

Eat??? RAAAOOW, gimme your whopper sandwich, NOW!!!

I agree. I always thot that he killed someone and took the room. No clue how else would he get a room unless there ws money in the clothes he snatched.

for questions like this i usually remember how it was explained in "the terminator" book written by William Wisher, one of three T1 screenwriters. at least he took a big part in behind the screen discussions.
that book clearly states that terminator rented the room. the only smell was rotting terminator body.
(also that book states that terminator converted his weapons from semi auto to full auto, which means he knew how to take take care of them.)

i've seen some questions like "who said that terminator rots" above.
except for the script itself, his makeup says that:
a) white skin is due to fail of blood pressure (also explained in the book). a photo of white makeup was posted here not long ago.
b) dead blue lips (best seen in truck damage scene). also lots of those photos were posted by TFG i think (i might be wrong).
c) flies on the face (not in the cut eye but on the face itself).

C.U. - TERMINATOR

his eyes tracking rapidly. His skin is waxy, WHITE, BRUISED,
GANGRENOUS in places. He ignores the FEW FLIES crawling
on his face.

He actually rented the room? Well, that was nice of him.

take money out of all people and shops you rob, use those money to get a safe base in a cheepest motel where nobody cares about you until you pay. nice and easy from future killer's point of view.
kill somebody in that same cheap motel and have problems when his friends or creditors discover your base.
so i think that the screenwriter was fully logical in his assumption )

what 1 hour are you talking about?
a) a lot of time passed from police shootout (where he got all wounds he didn't care to clean like T2 did) to "dead cat" scene (where he first appeared badly looking).
b) he's not a real organism with strong immunity systems and so on, he's just a thin layer of flesh. gangrene could start a lot easier in an artificial organic system.
and yes he is supposed to eat and breathe. because there is no other way to feed the flesh with nutritions and O2. he's a cybernetic organism, his flesh is filled with nerves connected to electronic brain, allowing him to fake mimics/read the pulse, his outer organs need internal organs to keep them alive, so on.

Yeah, he rented the room (thanks for backing me up there P. maybe you aren't an *** after all). :lol

And his skin was rotting. In the original screenplay, he was supposed to eat candy (fully wrapped, foil and the chocolate) a crunch bar or something. He just needed a little bit of sustenece for his skin and organs. He was going to eat it right after killing the first "wrong" Sarah Connor. The little boy that we see riding his little trike or whatever was supposed to see him get into the station wagon and stuff the candy bar in his mouth.

It might have been one of the other Sarah Connor killings though. There was one where he goes into the house and kills a mother and daughter and rips their legs open to check for the piece of Endo shrapnel in their legs (that's one of the ways Terminator figures out if he had the "right" Sarah).

But anyway, long story short, in the final film, the Terminator's skin is rotting like a mother****er after the Police Shootout. He's basically a corpse.

Yeah, it makes sense but at the same time he did some illogical things ,or at least he didn't seem to care about anything like all the people he killed in public places, the club scene (he didn't pay) then shoots the whole place, goes to a police station and kills everyone. So I just saying, I wouldn't put it past him to kill someone and keep the room.

that phrase says a lot about you and your criteria of judging people :wink1:
but yes you quote the same material i do, and people should know about those behind the screen stories.

safe base means no problems with surrounding humans. which also means no problems for surrounding humans. that's how i understood that part.

yes rly a-dev, i second what he says )
remember crawling Sarah?
terminator searched for a titanium fix of her bone broken by himself. another loop in that story, much smaller than the whole Skynet history idea, but still.
