Ha I like to believe that IG cobbled together his armament from the fallen bodies of his collected bounties. Seems he has an affinity for Imperial designs. And maybe IG needs no light, as his night vision capable eyes gets the job done.
Maybe this has been pointed out before so forgive me if it has since I haven't gone through all the pages of this post, but has anyone noticed that they didn't actually give Ig-11 the right e11 blaster? Looking at shots from the show he seems to have the flashlight attachment variant of the e11 and this figure just has the normal version.
Hmm does seems kinda odd... And yeah that's right the Remnant Troopers have them so... maybe an opportunity to customize it? Still, I understand the expectation for complete accuracy, I like that too.
I know when a manufacturer gets the advanced designs for (x) product, especially from the entertainment industry there can be design changes introduced by the studio, that sometimes, happens too late in the process. These may not be reflected in the final product.
Disney production team may have changed up IG's loadout with what was on the set at the time for the practical IG character and then CGI IG version? A lot of variables? Would be interesting to find out though.
When I look at Hot Toys Death Trooper Specialist Deluxe DLT-19D Heavy Blaster, I wonder if there may be some differences compare to the movie blaster? Then I watch the those scenes again... when you first see the DT walking through the field in the opening of RO, the HT's DLT-19D is accurate to that one the DT is carrying, with the exception HT's added the small right-side tac light. The illuminator pipes are straight and don't cross in an x under the front of the scope, and this one is seen exclusively thought the movie.
There were three DLT carried in that opening scene, but the straight pipes version is really the only one that can be seen in detail during the remaining action sequences. I've never been able compare all three that were carried. Seems like it's also possible that the other two may have some variant design characteristics? You can see from Rogue One on set pics there's a version with differences. There are pics of the DLT illuminator pipes crossing in an x in front of the receiver, under the scope... interesting. I've been trying to figure out where this other version was used. I've also seen some 3d printed versions of this as well? Does anyone know the story behind a possible alternate version? It didn't appear on screen, so maybe it doesn't matter. Btw, the same is true with the Sideshow Dengar blaster, a modified MG42. I'm sure there are others?
On another note, I would love to see HT release a few Imperial Armory sets of all the blaster variants.
