Who needs the figures if you have the PO?? Hell at this point I stopped collecting figures long ago and now just collect orders!

That may explain why my Rick Deckard Figure has been waiting for a flight out of HK since 02/10 ?

Probably yes. Flights and almost every other part of a normal functioning society are totally screwed in HK these days. HT will presumably survive just fine but disruption to their business model seems inevitable and I don’t just mean for a few months.

Yeah, things have gotten pretty bad in Hong Kong with covid, which seems kind of weird given they've gone through the pandemic almost unscathed since the very beginning. I wonder what happened there. It's frustrating being a collector of this hobby (especially as the rest of the world seems to be going back to almost normal), but it's not unreasonable that they might have a slowdown for a few more weeks.

What's actually frustrating is how they continue to put new products up for pre-order despite their production very likely being down. I don't know how they expect to get out of this hole they're putting themselves in.

Probably designing a figure requires less people, so design phase may not be affected by covid. And putting figures on pre-order creates an income with POs which helps the wheels turning for the company and workers.

At the current snail's pace I assume all unreleased preorders are going to eventually get delayed. Probably even some of the released stuff too. I still don't have figures like Sarlaac Fett or bd Mark 85. I'm sure many others have similar tales of woe.

Yikes..ouch.

That isn't a month or so delay either, that is a big one. I mean Hot Toys released 1 figure in February.

TCW Anakin still has March 2022, I'm assuming he'll get hit with a delay as well.

I can’t wait to get that snowspeeder Luke when I’m in my 70’s. Hot toys has to be careful here. Some of us are diehards that will wait like fools until the end of time.
people new to hobby may lose interest and spend their money elsewhere, if the figures keep taking years to get released. I know I’m bored right now. There are other companies making cool stuff, and the casuals who got into it for the mandalorian may check out and go buy super 7 or something else.

I hope not either , repaint Fett I guess is coming soon, Ashoka will be sometime this year and the Scout Trooper is a lock for this year at least.

I have the SS version to tide me over at least. This year and next will probably be slow years . I wound up two Rick Deckard's to help take the edge off. Going to try to trade one for another figure like K or Ash Williams to help occupy the time.

It is certainly a boring time to be an OT collector. I ordered and have been paying off the life size Boba Fett and Carbonite Han since November. I was a little concerned my bank account would take a beating with those two and all the HT figures that are supposed to be rolling in but it has not been as big an issue as I anticipated it might be with all the ridiculous delays.

They've gotta come up with a solution beyond just delaying stuff for their MASSIVE backlog of figures.

It is certainly a boring time to be an OT collector. I ordered and have been paying off the life size Boba Fett and Carbonite Han since November. I was a little concerned my bank account would take a beating with those two and all the HT figures that are supposed to be rolling in but it has not been as big an issue as I anticipated it might be with all the ridiculous delays.

The life size fett? Respect. That’s awesome.
