AE? I'm a bit irritated with Marc from AE. He changed the rewards program such that I didn't get the $25 birthday reward bonus this time around.

Yeah, me neither. And I was going to use it on Tank Trooper... which I ended up getting from Sideshow for less (which is what Sideshow wanted in the first place).

In AE’s defense, and they explained this in their newsletters, Sideshow forced the elimination of free shipping. The rewards program was restructured to help offset the loss of free shipping. If you want to be upset at anyone, blame Sideshow for not liking their retailers offering better alternatives than ordering directly from them. A small business being able to offer a rewards program at all is admirable.

Like I said, I'm a bit irritated - I know where the blame truly lies. And I know Marc's intentions were to act in his customers' best interests with his rewards program changes. It's the "offset" part of "restructured to help offset the loss of free shipping" that I don't quite follow. Marc did say he was going to reassess the program toward the end of the year, so I got the impression I wasn't the first to bring it up.

I suppose it also depends on what trier you are at. The program rewards loyalty more so if you use them regularly/exclusively, you’ll get to the higher tiers and earn more rewards quicker. So if you only shop with them occasionally, yeah, you’re probably not going to offset the previous free shipping.

I’ve switched almost exclusively to them since Sideshow changed their rewards program to expiring after only a year (good bye chances of getting a HT Hulkbuster again for $120) so I’ve been quite pleased with their rewards system. It that again will depend on how frequently you shop with them. I do believe they are doing their best but as a small business they only have so much room in their profit margins to even offer reward points. I can understand and appreciate the irritation though. The birthday rewards were quite a generous treat.

What's the hold up at Sideshow? The Moff G is already being parted out on eBay and others have had him in their collection for weeks.

So, I try to use AE as often as I can, unless I really need to spread out the payments on an expensive deluxe, or when AE is sold out. I’m at the Adamantium tier for the rewards program until the end of 2023 which I think means I get and annual additional award point dump into my account, but I’ve never been 100% sure exactly how it works.

Moff Gideon have arrived
What a nice figure (Had to modified the height of the figure)
And i didn’t have to pay for import tax on this which is the first from sideshow.

I just ordered him (with a coupon) and Bo-Kotan! I'm feeling the Mando itch as I'm doing a series rewatch and am almost at Mando. The in-hand pics certainly helped lol.

There were so many good characters in that show and my incoming queue is now very Mando heavy: Gideon, Bo-Kotan, Ahsoka, Luke, Dinn and Grogu, and ultimately a Boba whenever I decide on one. I'm going to pass on troopers and still have a nice Mando shelf.
