Yeah she really really messed up. We have fired people from the Fire Department for a lot less, can't have people thinking your business would ever support that type of stuff.

I always told my kids you can believe (or do) anything you want but sometimes there are negative consequences to those beliefs so i have zero sympathy. She is very easily replaced.

People misconstrue freedom of speech with freedom of repercussion. You can say whatever you want, you have that right, but you are equally as liable to be told to shut the **** up. She made analogies and comments that were not well recieved, and a company who employs her chose to not deal with that PR backlash. She not only opened the exit door, she walked through it singing. She knew what she was doing, and what consequences were possible if she went controversial while working for Disney. Regardless of how you land politically, that's standard business practice in a profit-based high profile company.

The show won't be worse for wear with her absence, all things considered. I've never seen the appeal of the character that some people have, but to each their own. I figured her time was to be limited in most regards as the show brought on so many higher profile characters and actresses. Given the direction the show seems to be going, I don't think her character was going to have some massive, core roll moving forward anyhow.

I can't really defend her, as I don't know her personally. By all accounts she is very hard working and good to work with.

As far as shooting her mouth off and/or getting irritated because some people on Twitter wanted her to do something and don't understand other folks have the right to say "no" - it reminds me of protesters harassing a woman sitting eating her meal because she didn't want to raise her fist or something.

She's a fighter, so if you pester her she's likely to push back. I also don't expect someone like her to be a highbrow political intellectual as opposed to making ill-informed Tweets - but then again, not much different than a lot of Twitter and YTubers shooting their mouths off.

I really did like the character (I've got the 3.75 vintage figure) and Carano's physicality makes it hard to imagine recasting the role.
