Always wondered if UK/EU retailers would be in a position to offer better deals on figures if Sideshow were out of the equation on our markets. Not sure having a US based official distributor is healthy for us. Surely, a wholesaler or two around here would be able to handle import from HK direct.

I’ve heard recent tales of UK buyer’s sideshow purchases getting sent direct from HK and bypassing customs so there may be hope yet.

Heard of that as well. Still, too unpredictable right now to give it a chance. Gonna stick to HK and local stores for now.

They went through a phase of doing that some years ago.

It was good while it lasted during that phase, because they were writing the customs values in HK$ instead of US$.

Hence the fees payable were a fraction of what they should've been.

The driver would collect the money at the door. With Sideshow's R5-D4 there was nothing to pay at all because his value in HK$ was less than the £15 threshold for VAT!

Still enjoying the heck out of this set.

Looking at what else may show up for me for the rest of the year, I think this will end up being my figure(s) of the year. Just really like these looks and this set offers so many options for display. Heading out west in October...can't wait to get some desert shots of these two.

And out of the blue Popcultcha have shipped this. But no mention of the distributor having it in stock or PC themselves so allocation must have exhausted quickly, no surprise really.

We’ll just have to start our own collector community for people burdened by the misfortune of their nationality’s geographical placement.

Or try to embrace the responsibility of reviving and reinvigorating dead threads with new pictures and perspectives after everyone else has moved on to the next several releases while we’re perpetually playing catch-up…

Man that's just cool! I friggin' love all that extra detail in figures, such as some of the IM armors with all the articulated/removable panels exposing inner mech detail.

Just between us (and anyone else reading this), I have dozens of figures sitting unopened.

It’s difficult because you want to find the right time to do it. Really get into it and enjoy it. But when they all pile up you need a lot of time for it.

I think it happens to more of us than it seems.

My whole collection of 100+ figures are in the box.

This is going to sound blasphemous but I STILL haven't opened this set,Rex and the Shoretrooper Squad Leader.
With Jango,Ashoka and Snowspeeder Luke all arriving within 3 weeks of each other,I've pushed some unboxings to the side.

**Gloomily** Yeah, fully guilty of this Come to think of it, despite continuously receiving figures, I've only opened less than a few of the brand new ones this year so far

I do the same thing, but don't have a lot unopened. I want the figures as fast as financially possible (lol), but when it comes to opening them I want to be able to take my time and enjoy it. I try and make it a special ritual, and get the most out of it. So some figures end up waiting a week or two.

I waited a couple of days to open this set - just didn't have time. It's worth waiting to do a "proper" unboxing to appreciate the details, and look over and test everything. Congrats at getting a great haul of figs in!

Yes, YES!!! I feel inclined to dedicate the time when opening up a brand new figure! You hit the nail on the head, it feels like a ritual for every unboxing
