Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

Yeah, I've been told by other retailers (LCS) that not everyone gets the same allotments and that its not fair. AE might get 54 but other shops like TW get way less and that's why they sold through their allotment really quick.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

I feel like the mention of a Krayt Dragon being the predator to Sarlacc?s was a setup. My theory would go something like a Krayt feels the vibration from the Sail Barge explosion and comes and attacks the Sarlacc. Fett?s helmet gets pulled off for dramatic effect and to show Tem?s face because it?s still Hollywood. Then, he somehow manages to fire off his Jetpack freeing him and that?s when Bossk finds his body later, but after the jawa?s have taken his armor and Jetpack from him.

My concerns here are twofold, because I enjoy overthinking stuff:

1. People act like Tatooine has a strict allotment of one [1] sarlacc, as if there was only one sarlacc on Tattooine at the time, and the one Fett fell into was DEFINITELY THAT SAME ONE as shown in "Mandalorian," and;

2. In RotJ, Fett was shown falling into the sarlacc from above, that particular sarlacc had a vertical orientation.

Yet in "Mandalorian," that sarlacc was shown as being cavelike, a thing you could walk into from a sideways orientation. Therefore, how could it be the same sarlacc? You could not fall off a sail barge into the "Mandalorian" sarlacc - or perhaps that was one helluva bounce.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

I don’t think it’s the same Sarlacc either. I assume there’s plenty on the various deserts on Tattooine.

I just took it as Krayt Dragons would have no problem beating a Sarlacc due to it being able to burrow from the sides and avoiding the Sarlacc’s mouth on top of it. Krayt Dragons may not be as large but it has agility on its side. A Sarlacc vs Krayt Dragon little battle could be a nice episode in of itself while it cuts back and forth to Fett struggling to escape.

From the CEO of Alter Ego:

So each retailer gets 54 figures. Interesting to know.

I know for a fact that some retailers don't get anywhere close to that many figures. Maybe more established places like BBTS & AE feel comfortable ordering that many (i.e., they have the customer base to support it), but I think others may not have the operating budget to handle that kind of order - or simply choose not to.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

I know one of the other retailers in question, and it isn’t always about their operating budget. Sideshow deliberately only allows them so many when it comes to Hot Toys, and says NO when they ask for more.

Exactly, and that is where the monopoly effect comes in. They control everything giving the smaller operators only a little so as not to threaten their mighty doll selling empire.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

I happened to be on Monkey Depot and saw that they still have the deluxe available for pre-order.

Underground Figures still has the deluxe as well. Their site says they can do a pre-order without payment upfront if you email them.

I mean, they are in a business and if they've got the power to limit distribution to other smaller companies, why would they not do it? I can just see the distribution guy in the CEOs office saying "Well, we let BBTS has 500 units because....<fill in your reason here>". My point is, if you're the guy answering to the bottom line, what is your rationale for basically giving your competition more selling power?

There are also plenty of cases where having a large amount of stock is probably not great for their bottom line. They probably lost their a$$ on First Order trooper stuff.

Sure, you could argue that about Amazon too. I guess I'm not in favour of these big companies monopolising the market and pushing out all the little guys or keeping them in but minimising/controlling their profits.

Hot Toys play's their part in this as well. They could also chose to supply themselves, but instead chose to have one single distributor.

Interview with Tem about Boba show today!

Only heard a clone trooper talking the entire time :lol

Oof, I remember that time they were giving away those troopers to people who ordered something else.

I tend to think it was the same sarlacc. I didn?t sssume the Krayt killed it thou. He just said ate it.
🤔

Also it was near mos eisley which I assumed was near jabbas palace but that a a lot of assumptions lol

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

I know it's now legends, but the Kenobi novel made it seems like there's an abundance of sarlacc on Tatooine.

Re: Hot Toys - TMS033 & TMS034 - The Mandalorian: Boba Fett (Regular and Deluxe versi

Definitely not the same sarlacc. Even ignoring that the pit was facing the wrong way, the location itself was totally different.

Exactly. The miracle here is that other US retailers get anything at all.

Totally with you there. I'm not in favor of it either, but unfortunately it's the way of business now...

True. But it’s only the way things are because folks are unwilling to speak with their wallets, or complain to the worst offenders.

I think people are speaking loud and clear with how much they shop on Amazon these days:lol
