So I think Cape Cod Cloths are the perfect solution, which makes sense since they are for polishing fine metals. Here is the jetpack with one side polished and one side not. What’s perfect is it’s finely abrading the tarnish away so you can leave the specific amount of tarnish behind that you want with no risk to the finish below. Any hazing you may see is actually a little oil from the cloth that needs to be completely cleaned. These are the finest polishing cloths you can find and do not leave any scratch marks.

I’ll be recording the process soon and post a before and after.
Looking forward to see your full results, and thanks for sharing. While I expected and am fine with the weathering based on the promo pics, I can see why some are panicked by some of the in-hand images (if it's to much I will definitely try your method).
Several will be relieved to know they have alternatives to what was given.
Part of what makes this place great!(y)

Looks very promising. You'll have to share when you come to do the more noticable parts like the chest and helmet. Some before an afters. Is there a specific product you used or are all cape cod cloths made equal? Never used one before.

If it's possible to get the same results without using any sort of thinners/alcohol etc i'd prefer that.
There's really only one type of Cape Cod Cloth in a tin or a pouch doesnt matter. They're a brand not a type of cloth. They are made for polishing metals but can work on glass and mineral crystals too so as you could imagine their point is to not leave any visible hazing or fine lines. They use an incredibly fine abrasive no chemicals or thinners.

Excellent, will look into this as a first choice. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your results.

Nice. That's probably the method I'll go with then.

Will be wiping away the weathering from the center of each piece outwards, leaving some of it towards the edges and creases in the armor to make it look more natural.
You don't need to overthink this. I did this by polishing it just like you would a spoon or silver tea set. It removes very gently and leaves weathering in all the places you would want it.

My main advice is to understand that removing the residue of the polish continues to polish so you want to get to about half way where you want it before you stop using the polishing cloth and switch to wiping away the polish.

Once the polishing is done you can run the pieces under some water or use a wet cloth to remove any lingering residue and wipe dry.

Also be careful with how quickly you polish, I did catch a plastic burr with the cotton cloth I was using and it pulled some plastic off. This is more of a materials defect on the figures part than a risk of the polishing. If I was going slower it probably wouldn't have happened.

Did you leave some of the weathering on the helmet by choice or was that all you could remove?
It's the oldest part of the armor so I left it the most tarnished. You could eventually rub away the whole paint job if you keep buffing with this so you can really dial it in however you want. It doesn't look like I went through the clear or removed any chrome anywhere on the armor.

This finish is not accurate to the props at all but it’s hard not to like it. I think this is more of a what does Beskar actually look like in person vs the props which are just nice silver paint.

So I’ve had the S1 Beskar Mando in his box for about a year now because I needed the PRAM and was waiting for this season 2 figure to release. After seeing final product pics I’ve decided I’ll get a chrome armor kit to use on a figure that’s been in its box rather than spend another $300+ on a new figure.

After making the decision I wanted to start working on my perfect Mando so I soaked the Beskar Mandos suit in some warm water and detergent, went through about 3 cycles until water was basically clear and it turned out amazing so I thought I’d share. Left suit is stock for reference.

I’m hoping you can do this with the new S2 Beskar suit but I’m not sure considering the flight suit is even more Grey now than it was before.

Thank you. It's all stock other than the polished armor.
nice, it looks more accurate / brown here than some other pics.

those last two photos are stunning. i didnt mind the weathering, preferred it to an overly clean look, but you hit the perfect balance here. will have to try this.

Dank farrik! that pic makes me pissed they blew up the Razor Crest all over again.
Seeing how fantastic the Batman and Armory might look next to Mando and his own ships Armory, had they made it as a freestanding prop.

I know the Crest and it's contents were destroyed, yet would anyone like to see something done in the style of the Batman Armory, similar in a free standing set up of a Mando Armory/Weapons Locker, to display with this figure?
