I think the Right Thigh Armour plate doesnt look right , it looked more like a flat gunmetal to my eyes . But this one on the HT looks Chrome with heavy washes and weathering
Yeah that thigh plate shouldn't have any chrome on it. It isn't a piece of beskar armour. I think it came from the droid with the EE-3 blaster from season 1.

Not that that is anything to go by , but here is the 501st Costuming Reference . I prefer the more muted down darker look . The V1 Beskar HT looks closer to this . I just think the new one looks a tad bright , but hey its hard to really know without looking at the actual Prop. The EFX & ANOVOS Helmets are also this sort of Colour, not saying its accurate I just prefer it . Also the V1 isnt a total waste , because the thigh armour is different and you have the unstamped right shoulder armour so it still counts and definitely not redundant :) plus the flame effects and rocket flames etc .

The armour either looks super shiny or pretty dull depending on lighting conditions, so it is pretty hard to tell what the *true* look of the armour is.

Zoomed in. Just shows what different lighting can emphasis even on the real thing.

Stippling! :horror
If that cloth can somewhat bring it down to this level I'm good.

Wait, so people think the v2 Mando is better than this new v3 version?
Not the Mando, the Grogu. But v3 Mando is not an huge improvement over v2, so easy pass for me. Waiting for v27 Mando in his full beskar armor sitting on his throne.

Not saying you in particular, but people keep pointing to this episode and a half appearance in the desert as proof the weathering is good and it's still just overboard on the figure comparatively.

Not to mention its conveniently ignored that the flight suit is definitely more brown here when the figure has Grey yet again.

Will def try the cape cod cloth on mine when it gets here. Though I might want to get some spare parts to be on the safe side.

Justin’s review mentioned that he “modded” his v1 flightsuit to look more brown. Anyone know offhand how he did it? I don’t want to dig deep into his past videos and comments if I don’t have to.

So I’ve had the S1 Beskar Mando in his box for about a year now because I needed the PRAM and was waiting for this season 2 figure to release. After seeing final product pics I’ve decided I’ll get a chrome armor kit to use on a figure that’s been in its box rather than spend another $300+ on a new figure.

After making the decision I wanted to start working on my perfect Mando so I soaked the Beskar Mandos suit in some warm water and detergent, went through about 3 cycles until water was basically clear and it turned out amazing so I thought I’d share. Left suit is stock for reference.

I’m hoping you can do this with the new S2 Beskar suit but I’m not sure considering the flight suit is even more Grey now than it was before.

My turn for the cod cape method. All parts i'm doing plus a before and after on the helmet.

Be warned however, as suspected this will probably reveal any imperfections in the chrome which I have found one or two very small blemishes. Plus this is going to mark like a ***** when handled once weathering is removed, so gloves recommended after, downside of clean chrome.

I would advise starting light and do not go over areas too much once the weathering is removed. Slow and steady wins this.

Looks way better cleaned. That stock "weathering" is ridiculous.
