What is there to agree or disagree about? Does Disney not own Marvel? Who bought who?

You're telling me that Disney is calling all the shots and telling the people at Marvel how to run the show. Do you know anything about big business and micromanagement? They go together like oil and water.

You think that Disney executives are bossing the Star Wars people around too?

Hogwash. Disney didn't pay 4.5 BILLION dollars for Star Wars to run in and change the business model. Same goes for Marvel.

Who said they were changing the business model? They didn't come in and fire everybody or anything like that. Marvel has to answer to Disney on big decisions like ANY subsidiary. They can't just do whatever the hell they want. Don't you think Disney approves things like budgets, or do they hand over blank checks?

To be honest, I really don't even know what point you're trying to make here.

I just read 4 different articles about the merger / acquisition and it was pretty clear to me that Disney allows Marvel to run on its own. Disney is in business with Marvel for financial gain.

Exactly. Because X-film merch doesn't sell! Last two HT Wolvies? Still in stock on SSC's website. Wolvie: Origins and The Wolverine mass market figures? Clearanced out.

The Captain America Rescue version and Star Spangled version didn't sell out for a long while, HT introduced the Avengers version before the rescue and it took long after to shift, and two more came for TWS whilst the Star spangled still remains in-stock.

The mass-market figures were these cheap little things, no wonder they didn't sell, but either way the toy division of Marvel movie figures, (all studio movies) have a hard time selling according to that article posted a few days back.

_____

Saw this and found it strange, and interesting

Marvel spent ten years in court lobbying that the X-Men were Mutants not humans. The reason was that they won a 5.2% tax cut as U.S Law Tax Human-like dolls more than toys.

Would that mean they'd get 5.2% more profit from a Mutant toy than a humans toy?

Well here is some potentially good news

This is the truth, they were about the same quality of dollar store wrestling figures and only had 5 points of articulation. My sons wanted some super hero figures from the Wolverine and decided to get Legos instead.

I assume the "GOOD NEWS" could be Fassbenders vailed hint at a Magneto being made. "Sideshow Collectibles do not have Magneto packed and ready to go"

Reed Richards couldn't even make that big a stretch.

Magneto not being ready yet. Coming from the man who played it is more info then we had before.

Sorry. Coming from and Actor who has nothing to do with Sideshow or Hot Toys, and was probably paid to push The Wolverine figure because its not selling. Thats all I read into that.

Discount it all you like. This is the only connected source to the X-Men films that has mentioned anything in regards to this.

At least it is some sort of news.
