Wolverine doesn't sell, and he's the biggest X-player. So, you've got historical precedent. Then, folks don't have collections of X characters to build collections around, so you don't have residual effects on your Hawkeyes, Widows, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. like the Marvel Studios stuff does to build off of your Iron Men, Caps, Hulks, and Thors. I'm sure that thought process is what also led to Rhino and Electro, though I think it was flawed logic in that case. Probably not the best business move for HT to go after Future Past, which is also why I'm guessing we see a smattering of merchandise for this film across the board as opposed to the toy shelf onslaught you see for other films. Hasbro did the Wolverine last year, sales were lackluster, now no DOFP, etc.How HT can't see that a Fassbender Magneto would sell like hot cakes boggles the mind. Maybe X-Men doesn't have the global appeal that Avengers/Iron-man does?
