This is probably just me but if I had Borg and Pred chick on order and saw pics of a totally kick ass P1 figure I would think about canceling my current orders for the ultimate figure.

yeah probably, either way 2009 will be expensive but maybe rewarding on the figure front

I can't see what's stopping them. Its not looking like Dutch and Billy will be getting release anytime soon considering how silent hot toys have been about them, down to telling all forums to remove images. So I think they'll need to fill the void in the meantime before the license 'gets old' like what seems to have happened with Robocop (no Cain) and Aliens (no alien queen). If they have the Predator license they can make the P1 predator no probs, no waiting around for actor approval.

Seriously, I think most lines will start slowing down due to the economic crisis. Left and right companies are cutting down costs and avoiding risks because everybody's getting ready for a crappy '09. It doesn't bode well for our collecting habits.

As long as they release a Predator series, I don't really care about any other line Plus, I'm sure HT knows how big a predator series would be, so I'm not really worried.

Remember, HT likes to release a lot closer after announcement than SSC. So if they can't deliver it in 4-5 months, they won't announce it. And I take the silence on Duke and Billy as a good thing - perhaps they actually are working out the likeness issues.

According to Sonny Landham's wikipedia page, it says he failed to take legal action against a toy manufacturer (not HT) a few years ago who used his likness for Billy. He wanted royalites but lost the case.
