I can't believe they would invest in the new "hobbit" body and not do a Gimli figure.

Maybe they will pick it back up when the new movie comes out.

They just canceled the 12" line without finishing the fellowship.

I haven't heard this either. And considering we've gotten 3 this year, I highly doubt it is cancelled. But the backlash on the hobbits might have made them slow it down.

That's sad to hear about the LOTR line. Truth is most of them were pretty good, I only think Aragorn was a bit of a stumble. There was no reason for fans to not pick them up, I think maybe people just got burned out on LOTR stuff or are only collecting statues.

Hopefully the line will pick back up with the Hobbit films.

Come to think of it, they were three BIG LOTR 12" releases too. Not background players but main characters to boot, Frodo, Sam and Gandolf.

Glad to hear it's only on "hold," but has Sideshow ever announced that a line is dead/canceled? Or least that they didn't renew the license for a property?

For me, I'd love to see the rest of the Fellowship and Saruman, and I'd be pretty dang happy. (of course there's about 20 other characters that I'd like to see too, but LOTR 12" collectors can't be choosers)

They're releasing two Hobbit movies in a couple of years. From what I understand it's the Hobbit with some of the backstory thrown in. I'm sure there will be some cameos from the LOTR. I'm sure there will be a focus on Hobbit merch, but I wouldn't be surprised with the renewed intrest in middle earth that some of those characters from LOTR will get resurrected. Of course that doesn't help in the near term.

Star Wars is a perfect example of this. They jump between the varied movies even though the only current things are the comics and the CG show.
