How many figures can you fit in a Detolf?

I got five Joes in one, and it looks OK (more a necessity than a preference, since I only have 2 Detolfs). But you have to view it at the right angle.

4 works best if you have a really tall guy, IMO

I have one per shelf along with the box. Prior to this set up, I had 2 - 3 per shelf.

Any more than this and it begins to look clutter____ed IMO.

Many thanks for the responses. Some great collections. Looks like 4 per shelf as a standard with 5 for any trooper shelves.

Depends on the figure.

I can probably survive with 5 figs on one shelf if they're variants and not all completely different characters/lines.

2-3 looks most.... elegant?

all depends on what they are, and HOW they're posed.
gor example, use no stands
6-9 or so dead all clustered together can look awesome

a 6 man joe fire team with some kneeling, and some standing, all ready to shoot can look awesome as well.

A guy in the center surrounded bt 4-5 ninjas, if done right can work. too.

Or, a simple Throne, and old man on it, and 1-2 guys with him also works.

it all comes down to HOW they're posed in the detolf.

If you just want them standing there,, looking awesome, 3-4 at MOST

decent action poses, or poses where they are interacting can allow for more.

I'd say you can cramp in nine figures per level...36 figures per Detolf.

I've got 10 Jedi on one shelf with an Utapau trooper and the Barris and Luminari Clone Wars maquette all with it. Sure it's crowded but it's all the Jedi together.

My OT shelf is kindly similar too....around 15 or 16 with the Holochess table.

I would say 4 is the most I would display in a detolf. I had 5 in my Dark Knight shelf but one was just a cheap Bruce Wayne custom which was completely hidden at the back. I would never want to display a HT or Sideshow figure like that.

Some people have the space to be minimalist 1-2. Lucky b*st*rds
