Hang on a sec, how is it that you have two orders? The piece is limited to one per customer. You aren't publicly admitting to "working the system", are you? ;)

Oh, and BTW, I guess I need to remind everyone that the orders taken over the web site on Friday do not constitute the complete ES for the Speeder Bike PF. International dealer orders have not yet been factored in, and they may account for as many as have already been ordered.

And, of course, I don't think the John Connor bust made much of a dent in the order numbers on Friday. It has up for pre-order for over two days, and neither the attendee nor the non-attendee versions even show a low quantity yet.
Actually no I order it then ordered it from Bob then was told by Bob I may want to secure one from SS again until he can confirm my order so I ordered it agian and when I hit the page the Low quanity was up and it was on the last bar.

I am not saying that but if there are 1100 orders all day I figure at most 75% are speeders so I stand by my less then or equal to 1000 total. I mean they had over 300 orders a day the next two days with no PPO. I am not thinking John made a huge dent but even a couple hundred on Fri is a good amount of order numbers

PS Think SS is laughung as they watch this? They may wait even longer now just so they can continue to watch this:lol

I think whether or not they think this is funny depends on what the ES actually is.

Yep, and if it's 1000 or more, they are watching their potential windfall go bye bye.:rotfl
:rock:rock:rock
I honestly wonder what it actually costs to produce this thing when all is said and done, and at what point Sideshow breaks even.

Selling @ AFX for same $799.99 "in stock". Sold out at BigBadToyStore. And WOW selling @ SimplyToys for $1440 with a $350 deposit. HMMMM.

TOTALLY OFF SUBJECT but I just wanted to comment that this is an awesome forum and you guys are very informative, friendly and ENTERTAINING! But what is the whole "I'm with ... Civil War" thing? LMAO.:bow

After seeing Tom's numbers, it makes me guess that the ES will be 1983. This is just based off Obi's EES of 1977.

But, if it were an ES of 1983 I think they would have already said it since it would be neat to advertise.

Concerning the last question. The Civil War thing is from the Marvel crossover series where the Marvel heroes were divided over a mutant/superhero list the government was trying to enforce.

It's just some fun we had with the Marvel Comics Civil War mini-series. Some people added banners to their signatures proclaiming their "affiliation" in that event, and then a few people started making mock banners showing affiliation with people or characters that aren't part of the Marvel universe. And then they started becoming very popular, so a few of us started creating banners for others to use. Check out this thread for more details.

I agree. If that had been their intent, they would have (should have) announced it beforehand to further hype the piece. But I doubt that will be the ES. Most (all?) of the year-based ES pieces have been in the 12" line, not the PF line.

Don't forget, it doesn't count phone orders either; that is a separate numbering system. I will stand by my prediction of 1250 ES.

If they make that many, and with the size and apparent detail of this, I don't think they'll have them ready to ship by the begining of next year..Just means more chance to save for it!:D

It's funny how you folks are psyching yourselves up that this is the best PF to date! And what's funnier is that you think this will be the next high valued item.

Let's go back to the original post I made, and someone correct me if I'm waaay off. Here's the fact as I see it:
No Star Wars PFs to date has gone up in price to date from their original retail value.

With that said, I somehow thought PF Grievous was the best thing in PF especially with the Exclusive. You can't tell me there's any cooler and more sought after exclusive than Grievous' cape in all the SW PFs to date. Yet . . .look where Grievous PF Exclusive is now . . . You can't even sell it for retail!!!

Ok, so now let's talk about this here Biker Scout PF. First . . .there's no exclusive!!! Second . . .it's hella expensive! Third, I get the feeling SW geeks are cheap (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that!).

It doesn't matter what the sales trends are to date. It doesn't matter if SS doesn't announce an ES, or if they hoard the stock from the sellers. Bottom-line, it's gonna be the buyers who will dictate the trend. And based on the previous trends with the PF line, especially on something that's not an exclusive, this Biker Scout will go the way of the others before it. History is my basis. That's why I stated the only way this PF will retain its value is if SS limits the edition size to under 500. Don't believe me? Then prove it historically . . .

Except for the PF Han Solo Exclusive. And that's only because the edition size was 250.

But you're right, if the ES is too high, it will have a hell of a time keeping its value.

Try finding an exclusive Vader or Obi for retail. They are getting harder and harder to find. These only came out a year ago. Give it some time. I know a lot of people are starting to get away from the 12" line and into the PF's.

to make it official:

if you think it will decrease in value then wait.

if you think it will gain in value then buy.

And if you don't give a sht about either of the above then do what you want.

I'm trying to convince Adam that we need AT LEAST two of them... to race across our mantle! I mean... they are articulated! Why wouldn't you want this? If the PFs will be articulated in the future... and they do and Endor Luke on a bike? or Leia? then i'll be sorry I didn't buy two. Or three.

I'm doing it.

Not to sound like I was born yesterday, but are you Adam's significant other?

I hadn't thought of that - since you can move the arm and head, then you could have 2 with different poses.

If this one is successful, I can't see them not not getting some mileage out of the bike and doing Leia and Luke eventually.

And then another one with both...

I talked to one retailer yesterday that said he has 8 on order from Sideshow with only 1 confirmed. And here is the announcement from Alter Ego Comics:
The Speeder Bike and Scout Trooper Premium Format figure is sold out. Retailers were allocated extremely limited numbers on this item.
Do any retailers have more than 1 confirmed? Would you tell us if you did?

Honestly, this is a brilliant move in the chess game by SS. If dealers were getting full allotments the cancellations would be coming in droves. As it is, people are hanging onto their orders and waiting. SS knows good and well, everyday you keep the order a teensy bit of ownership is added in. A few opinions are swayed. A few more dollars are heard to be making the cha-ching sound in their coffers. If they had their way, I'll bet we wouldn't know what the ES was until we looked under the base.:rotfl Gotta admit the suspense is delicious. I know. That sounds really gay, but it's still true.:rotfl
