No offense to you, but that's a load of crap. History teaches us many things, it also repeats itself quite a bit, which gives a chance to look back at what happened and find a prevent it from happening again.
As for the war, just ask some of the soldiers who were tasked with finding WMDs when Saddam claimed he didn't have any. Hell, my own brother was part of a squad who was assigned to finding WMDs and they found a bunch of them(Nerve gas, SARS, Anthrax, Nukes, etc...) buried in trailers underground about five miles from a recently abandoned launch site.
We've had a few soldiers come back to our town who Ive asked about the situation there and each one had told me that the News is making a big deal out of it.
Also remember, the same guys we're fighting now, are still the same Al-Qaeda responsible for 9/11, remember? Seriously, people claim 'They'll never forget' about 9/11, yet they forget so easily that the same guys we're fighting are the one's responsible for it. People die in war, I hate it as much as anyone else, but it's a cold hard fact of life.
I'm not saying you have to believe me, but I'd trust someone who was there over some lying, grinning politician who just wants to get into the White House than defending his own country any day.
As far as Colbert, I find him and Stewart abit annoying. Yes, we know the government is full of idiotic buffoons, tell us something we don't know. I don't know why anyone would spend $16,000 on a cast, but if the $$$ is going to our troops, then I'm all for it.
