I am curious to know what some of you have spent at SS. I have spent about $2,800 to date. the bulk of wich went to the 1:1 scale bust from Legend. Whats the most expensive, least expensive, and so on?

to this date, I think roughly $500- $600? But that will change very soon...Im applying for my first job soon finally! Its going to make collecting SOOO much easier since I wont have to rely on washing cars every weekend. Also getting into the world of prop replicas, I just know Im gonna need a good cash flow

you better go ahead an apply for a 2nd job right away SS has a nack for taking all my money

WAY TO GO BDBOY !!!! I WOULD SAY I HAVE SPENT OVER THE YEARS 4K TO 5K...BUT I DIDNT BOUGHT ALL OF THEM FROM SIDESHOW SITE..I BOUGHT SOME AT HOBBY SHOP AND ON EBAY ALSO..

sure can esspecially when u gotta wait hours in subjects than have no use or interest to u, aka geography, science...

but I gotta admit, alot of its great, see your friends everyday, do subjects you DO like(Art)...:D

Im already anticipating my first apartment! lol, imagining all the room for display:D :D

this is a question i would so like to not answer/find out.

it's better for me not to know, same goes to my parents. :D

Hmm, let see... Well, I really dont wanna know how much in all, but my most expensive Items have been-
Sauron Helm- 265.
Shard of Narsil- 400.
limited Anduril- 450.
Gandalf Staff(from NC)- 315.
Ringwraith on steed- 425.
Fell beast and Morgul lord- 325.
Frodo- 300.
Sam and Bill the pony- 1100. (I know,I shouldve waited a little bit longer)
and from there on everything ranges from 200. Boromir, Sauron, Ugluk... To my lowest, the best deal so far, the King of the Dead; I got for 90. shipped:banana

Don't know how much(don't want to), but I do know what the most expensive item is(drum roll, please): Kong, without a doubt. just wish I didn't have to wait 'til AUGUST to play with him...PS

Kind of scary to total everything, but according to Quicken:for the two years from January 1st 2004 to January 1st 2006 total expenditures for my "Collection" catagory hit $49,000 with probably more then half being Sideshow products. The rest being Code 3, MR, UC, GG and other miscelanous stuff.

I'm not as big a collector as some people are and haven't really invested as much in any individual items as the SSC polystone people have. In answer to the question as I understand it:
The most I've ever spent on an SSC item was on the secondary market and that was for two SDCC exclusive Nazi Kroenen figures that I gave friends. It was approx. $125. USD each. I was able to get one for myself from a great dealer, Dark Shadows Collectibles for $60. USD.
What I've spent in total over the years on SSC/SST 1/6th and 1/8th scale figures and dio pieces is right around $5500. - 6000. USD, but it's a guesstimate. Most of what I've purchased over the years was from SSC or etailers with an occasional brick and mortar or eBay purchase.
Most of my figures were purchased for around the regular retail prices, some a little less, some a little more. I've bought about 120 figures. I've had all the Bonds, all the Buffy's, all the Sixgun Legends and most of the Bayonets and Barbed Wire, all the Hellboy and Van Helsing as well as a bunch of misc. from other series like Modern Horror and others. I've actually sold a fair number of these figures when I lost interest. I still have a complete set of Universal Monsters and Classic Horror regular editions and all of the 1/8th scale UM figures as well. Still have sixty + SSC figures.
I'd be afraid to even admit what I've spent altogether on action figures and toys over the last 8 or 9 years. Alot though.

:lecture Economic theory dictates it is highly irrational for people like me (students) to spend as much as a dime on a simple piece of movie memorabilia...(bla bla)

Let me just say it is better I do not think of such things, for my mind could not comprehend the figure that would be the result of such thinking ;)

I try not to think about it because every time I do it just makes me want to stop collecting and use that money for something a bit more worthwhile. I'm like a drug addict though, gotta have my fix.

Mine's probably in the same range for the time I've been collecting (just over a year now). I've spent probably somewhere in the $20k range in that year, but that includes stuff I've sold off. The total value of the items left in my collection is probably $6-7k.

I've got about $10k left on preorder, but I always like to see pieces in person before I decide to keep them or not. It is beneficial that way, since a great deal of stuff I have on preorder has appreciated considerably in the time since I ordered it. The MR Shock helmets being one good example.
