Easy fix . The pin in the tube of the hand uses 2 stick like pins. If one of the pins are missing you need to drill a hole and pin back the original pin or make it more stronger. you can put a paper clip at a angle drilled and that will hold you hand.

Sorry for the bad description. The hands are of course connected via ball joints to the corresponding arms which are again connected to the body. The ball joint itself looks like this:

---O---

Here, the --- symbolize the pins of the ball joint and the O the ball joint itself. If you assemble the hole thing you get the following:

Hand---O---Arm

The pins of the ball joints are connected to the arm by sliding the pin into a plastic tube in the arm. On the left side I can see the end of the tube which is covered by the outer rubber body. On the ride side, my arm seems to miss a part of the tube where the pin should be inserted resulting in a very loose connection.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to do that...

Here are some pictures of the replacement dog/dragon I received. The reflective light from the acrylic glass on the case was giving me problems with different picture angles.

I was lucky enough that I got a replacement from Alter Ego Comics.I emailed Alter Ego about how I had sent several emails to HT about the problems I was having and had not received any response(and still haven't)from them. The reason I contacted HT instead of Alter Ego was because of the fact that it was past their stated return period.

Alter Ego responded back saying it was a shame that HT had not responded and to my suprise said that they still had some in stock and were sending me a return label so I could exchange it for a new one.All I can say is that Alter Ego Comics has the best customer service I've ever dealt with! Any of my future purchases will definitively be through them.

I decided to use some 303 Aerospace protectant on this one.Their website mentions in one of their testimonials that 303 was used on the cat woman suit they used in the Batman movie to protect it from UV light and rubber degration.I also emailed them about whether this stuff was safe for painted rubber and the reply was that it was not intended for paint. However they stated that in 20 years it has not been known to harm paint. So I figured I'd give it a shot. As you can see from the pictures it gave the figure a really wet look. The 303 is messy to apply.I sprayed the figure down and then used a soft brush to evenly apply it.If you don't wipe it down with something all the little crevices that the 303 builds up in will dry a hazy white color.I washed the brush and let the alien sit until the brush dried and then used the brush to basically buff off most of the excess.Even after that it leaves a slick kind of greasy residue behind. The one thing I noticed is that when I rinse the brush the water is brownish. It seems that the process of reapplying this stuff could result in the paint being slowly removed.

I also noticed that the back of the right arm on this one has some paint that looks like it is coming off.I don't know if this was an underlying issue or if it is a result of applying the protectant If this is a result of the protectant I guess I'm damned if I do damned if I don't.:banghead On the bright side I can always claim I have the extremely rare unpainted version.:wacky

How do you guys who have used Armor All apply it to your figure? Is there a particular technique to applying the stuff?

This figure was better than the previous one.No lip problem or scuffed dome and this one had better paint apps.So far there hasn't been any rubber issues and I have this one in a pretty neutral pose all the elbows, knees and neck are in the package bent positions.

I did have the dreaded leg problem with this one.I looked at the cup on the leg and found that it was not deburred properly. One half of the cup was a half circle and the other was more of a crescent were the material was not removed all the way.The leg would have never went in with out breaking like that.I took a Dremel tool and grinded the one side of the cup back to a half circle and the leg went on without a hitch and the joint was as tight as the other.

I am glad to see you got that fixed, that is great CS and you got a really good looking Dog Alien, love all the gloss on it..wish mine looked that wet lol.

It wasn't that glossy out of the box.The neck actually looked a little dry and powdery. It was the 303 protectant that made it that wet looking.I'm still trying to see what the long term affects of applying it will do to the figure.

Ahh right, i did not read all your post as the pics kind of blew me away.

Well, effin A! where do i get me some of that sauce?, probally only through the company site? :p.

If you want to try it you can get a sample pack from them.I think I read that the stuff is not sold in Canada.

Like I said though I am testing this stuff I don't know if it will harm the figure after repeated use or not.

So use at your own risk.

I'm so pissed!

Just got the Dog Alien and while trying to get that damn leg on him the knee snapped! First the Aliens Warrior has a crap body, the AVP a bum ankle and now this. Just completely annoyed by the whole thing :cuss

Damn man, that sucks royally!
Sorry to hear about it. Any chances of getting a replacement?

I sent a message to HT... ultimately its my fault, I was being careful, but usually you have to use some force to get the body together. But honestly I've never had this much trouble and evidently stress was too great and I snapped the knee.

Right now I'm pretty bummed as its a cool looking figure, but not so much fun with a floppy knee :monkey2

So, you are saying the knee is broke?, i noticed after standing mine for awhile now, both knees are pretty loose i guess..i mean it will stand but, thats with the lower ratcheding joint before the toe area being fully extended..and the thing is i can't remember if the knees had the ratcheding joint in there when i first posed him..maybe the knees just blow out on these biaytches after a couple weeks of standing.

Its the top knee joint... which I don't think is ratcheted, the lower one was. I just snapped like a twig. Basically just dangles there now :lol

No word from HT... but I send a message only yesterday.

But some encouraging developments. I was able to remove the broken thigh and turns out I had a clean break. So if the Superglue holds I should be in good shape :rock

It still broke during assembly which just shouldn't happen. I don't believe it was your fault at all. This thing was shockingly hard to assemble. I'm frankly amazed I didn't break any part of mine while trying to get the leg on. But I certainly had an effect on the paintjob. All the new sheen was gone off mine in an hour of sweaty effort.

I wonder would Future Shine floor wax screw up this figure if i applied some to give it a more wet look.
