It still broke during assembly which just shouldn't happen. I don't believe it was your fault at all. This thing was shockingly hard to assemble. I'm frankly amazed I didn't break any part of mine while trying to get the leg on. But I certainly had an effect on the paintjob. All the new sheen was gone off mine in an hour of sweaty effort.

True... it was a absolute pain. I actually took just the thigh part and even then with heating it, lubing it and trying to pop it in using different methods (even ones that were discussed here) it just wouldn't go in. I finally shaved off a tiny bit of the thigh socket and that was what I needed to get it in.

And final result I was able to fix the knee joint... I did rebreak it once, but the second time I used an extra set of hands and was able to keep the joint stabilized while I reassembled the leg and then slipped the rubber sheath back over the leg.

A huge pain, but at least now I have a funcional Alien. The knee joint isn't quite as strong as the other one, but its close enough that he can stand, etc.

Oh, and pretty much all of the shine is not gone from that leg... not looking so good on the other one either :lol

Dog alien was my most frustrating 1/6th figure. It was so bad I wanted to deliberately break the figure. I wanted to smash it to pieces, such was the hard time I had to trying to get the leg on.

Prior to this my worst time was with Kane&Dallas, trying to get all the lights working, unhooking backpacks and inserting extra metal pieces to get those batteries connecting properly - getting that done only to find that the helmet lights then weren't working - restoring those to working order only to find that the >>>>ing extra metal bits in the backpack section had dislodged during my helmet efforts.......that was a bad night. Are hobbies supposed to be this way??

Well... my victory was premature. He seemed fine, got a few poses out of him. But sadly while trying to get that final pose I re-snapped the knee

Here is the one photo I got before he was reinjured :monkey2

Sorry man. Just a disappointing figure overall. If the original Alien ends up being as innaccurate, as easily breakable and as difficult as this was to assemble then it'll be a definite pass.

Hopefully, the trend they've started with the Predator will carry over to all the future figure releases.

It'd be nice to get Giger's Alien from them already assembled.

That sux ass Joseph!! Another miss by Hot Toys as far as the Aliens figures go.

If/when we get a Guger Alien all the problems better be fixed!

Yeah, hopefully it will be pre-assembled. Sucks to break a figure, especially as its really kickass looking :cuss

Hopefully the trend to make them undersized does not carry over...

Now that would suck.

It needs to be in scale with current figures from the film.

If it's as tall as Dallas or Kane, I'm gonna be PISSED!

:rotfl

Sorry!

But it is baffling to me how they could go and make the P1 pred, the ultimate pred, too small. It simply defies logic!

At any rate, we know that HT's take on the Giger alien will probably be inaccurate as hell, so it's alright, it'll never be the definitive alien anyway. :lol

just got my dog alien today...and i almost made it through the building process without breaking it. Had some trouble with the arm, but some heavy force, bam got it in. then the leg.. i was dreading this cause of all the horror stories. after some time i finally managed it after i shaved the ball joint a bit. Then i go to pose it a bit, I move the left arm and i guess i accounted for too much articulation and used to much force and the forearm just went *SNAP*. but oh well its not an aesthetic break and the way i planned to pose him didnt need that arm its still an awesome figure!

Man, that sucks to hear. I went back and re-repaired mine... guess I'm a gluten for punishment. So now he's posed and I have no plans on moving him unless absolutely necessary :lol

I'm surprised HT didn't include instructions on the range of movement on these as well as pointers for assembly. W/o shaving the joint there was no way I was going to be able to assemble that leg.

heres a pic of my dragon! (sorry for the shoddy pic)

It was a long wait, but I finally received my Dog Alien today. The figure is perfect. I love it all the way. I haven't assembled it yet, so of course no breakage issues. I hope to keep it that way!

Late to the party, but I just got my dragon!

No problems assembling it! The leg was tough, but it was easier than I thought.
I am a bit surprised about the lack of pose-ability in the ankles (the hips and knees work great, the toes are a bit loose), I didn't know those had no articulation...
All in all, it's a lovely figure, I hope the Nostromo alien is more accurate though.
