I'm sure they make many batches within the main bulk order. They may even make more down the line. But it's not like they send out 50 figures to get a read on what people are saying here and then make modifications and send out a new, improved batch.

So the differences people are finding I think are just the variations within the process of mass producing these Indys. A few thousand thick zippers and a few thousand thinner ones. Luck of the draw.

Decided to do something bold and risky to the jacket

Many people on this site would take offense to that statement. Didn't you know that Hot Toys submits their specs and pics directly to this board so that the real experts can correct all of their mistakes with red lines? :lol

I wasn't implying they made an improved batch. Just pointing out that the figure was suddenly In Stock out of nowhere. There was no Backordered status, where you expect more stock to show up.

Whatever we "know" about the process is mostly just made up wives tales that have stood the test of time here.

What I really think happened is that some retail orders fell through. My friend has been offered additional cases of Sold Out items when another store can't pay for their original number. But that's also just speculation. :dunno

I bet that's true. Word says that stores are unloading this figure overseas. Not sure that's true, but if it is perhaps Sideshow picked up additonal orders.

One thing though, Sideshow originally said it was backordered...then suddenly said it was Sold Out.... now back in stock. Maybe their backorder just got filled as it was supposed to. Sideshow plays some lame tricks... sold out, not sold out. Silly games. I don't buy what they say anymore.

BTW, I wasn't pointing you out in my previous post. Just a general statement to us unwashed masses.

I've seen DX05 yesterday in my local store.
It is better than on the pictures, but still a miss sculpt. :(

All the sculpts I've gotten have been different Wor-Gar, I actually have 4 heads, one was a gift from a kind seller. The newest ones don't have the guy liner but seem more rounded, square shaped. The jacket thing I just noticed on this one. I haven't looked at the rest of it!

Lookin' forward to these comparison pics of your diff. HS & jacket of your Indys Rory.:monkey1 Oh and btw, congrats on your 3dr Indy & that sword for your TOD. :clap

Of all the many hundreds of pics shown of the head sculpt in these threads - this particular shot looks THE absolute best and most like Harrison Ford to my eyes. You nailed the beard growth / sweaty appearance. PERFECT Raiders Indy appearance on the head. Well done!

Some more, sorry about the blurry pics

There are indeed seveal batches of heads!

I now have two Indies plus a spare head and they are all different!

Yesterday I got my second one from OSB and straight out of the box I was impressed! I mean, I liked the other ones, from the start but, like many others, I'd thought, good but far from perfect!

Now the latest one, I took it out and my first thought was: They've resculpted it!

Of course, I was wrong, that's the exact same sculpt, but the paint apps are different (on all 3 of them by the way, the latter having more red to it), but what's completely different is he looks slimmer, more like Ford! And not a shadow of guyliner!

So I guess some people are right! The head gets warped when the PERS is installed!

Therefore, I've made up my mind, this WE, I'll try the hairdryer method because when you look at them side by side, the difference is minimal, but the result is hugely different!

Guys, this sculpt CAN be almost perfect!

So a question to those who used the haidryer? Do you have to remore the PERS first?

If you really want to improve it, take out the pers box, cut it down, shave out the inside of the head and then heat it.

I am just finishing my custom Raiders Indy, will post pics tomorrow, very pleased!

:)

So curious now what I'd get if I went for another head. Kind of sucks to know this, but it is what it is. Clearly changes were made along the way.

Maybe it is best to wait deeper into delivery when it comes to HT, since they seem to make adjustments to later "batches".

But the later you leave it, the older the stock, it would become more difficult to tell whether you are getting one that has been on a shelf or a newer one. At the moment they are selling like hot cakes on ebay, if you wanted one I would get it from there soon, but to be honest man, I think your head looks great, one of the good ones.

almost there... iPhone pic in the dark! I will take some decent pics tomorrow.

Looks great Rory your work is a piece of Sculpted art. And photo skills are a work of art! I should be getting my Mfisher gear anyday now, I can't wait to see how it looks on mine, I know the whip isn't posable, but that's not going to stop me from seeing what poses I can try so I can get some nice shots.
