That jacket does look much better but for me I still do not like the collar. However that is not a fault of you Fiend. Great work!!

That's the best I've seen that HT jacket. :clap:clap

Thanks fellas. It means a lot. :duff

What don't you like about the collar, Ron? I have mine actually glued down. Unfutzed or unglued and stock, I fully understand. That thing can look seriously unruly.

I don't like how flat the collar is. You definitely made it look better but if you look at the actual jacket the collar sits higher up on the neck. Look at the Kato jacket for example or the SS one that I redid a page before. The HT collar is too linear and doesn't wrap around the neck right. Again this is not a knock against what you did at all. This is my pet peave with Hot Toys.

I also just wanted to add that what you did with the rest of jacket on a whole does make the jacket more superior overall.

Fiend,

I have an idea what mods you made to the jacket but would you tell us what exactly you did? I'd like to give it a try myself as it looks incredible.

Thanks!

Excellent shots, I'd love to see a few more action-oriented ones, but I'd understand if James didn't want you getting too liberal with the posing on the rocks, what with all the sharp edges. ;)

Ok here is my re-worked Indy again now upgraded with the Sovereign jacket!! Mfisher's set has been ordered and I will have that soon as well to upgrade further.

What did you do to weather the jacket that well Fiend?

Basically just beat the hell out of it :lol But one thing that I think is crucial to make the jacket look better and lay more naturally is cutting out the lining. It's completely unnecessary for it to be there. That will in itself make it look better. As far as weathering, first I very lightly sanded the surface to get rid of the shiny new look. Go easy though, because if you go too far you'll start to see these horizontal line from the fabric underneath that don't look right and ruins the illusion of a weathered jacket. Next, I just roughed it up by crinkled it with my hands and folding it and rubbing the sides together. Then I put the jacket on the body and rolled the sleeved up as high as they would go and left them like that for 10 minutes or so. When you unroll those great wrinkle will stay. I did this a few time I think to really rough it up. I glued the collar down because it's a *******. I took some light brown acrylics and touched up small areas that I think would wear away from stress and use, like the corners of the pockets, the cuffs and the wrinkles on the sleeves. Lastly I covered it with movie dirt, or rare earth. This is great stuff that washes off and doesn't have to be permanent. Instead of using paint you could just use this. Todds Costumes has it, that's where I bought mine. You get a nice size bottle that should last you a good long time.

Hope that helps. :)

Oh, one more thing. You should know that I switched out the arms for the narrow shoulders, that isn't the jacket creating that slope.

What's a good jacket that I can find relatively easily to replace the HT jacket?

Easy? Not many, if any. Not if you want a jacket that looks like Indys or that is at least passable. Im sure you can find the SSC jacket at a reasonable price fairly easy, but the HT jacket is better quality and looks decent after some mods. I have the SSC jacket as well. I did the same thing to that one that I did to the HT jacket. My favorite is the Sovereign Studios jacket. It's a custom that's hard to find though. They don't pop up often and when they do they're $75-$100. I like the Kato jacket but it's not right for Raiders.
