Looks great Chase. Did you do anything to the dreads? They look like they aren't flailing out as much. Also, see if you can lower the shoulder armor a bit so that there isn't such a gap between his right shoulder and the armor.

Thnx, just dipped the lower part of the mask in boiling water for about 15 seconds, didnt do anything to the dreads. And I did lower the shoulder armor.

Widening the mask makes a huge difference, look much better now imo.

Great price with the discount Wor-Gar!

Yep, $137 shipped! Very nice.

They do have more though, enough to warrant adding the picture now to the listing.

I'm sure there will be another coupon like Maulfan says on President's Day or Valentines.

I missed Hastings 30% off sale back in November and that's when I started tracking the Pred 1 on their site, so they've been up for awhile.

Nothing really, just adjusting to sit a bit lower, I think some have added a thin leather strap to hold it down.

I pretty much stayed out of the other pred thread about making it screen accurate, but I think there may be more info in that thread.

The accurrate stuff is fun, but the mask and dread fix I'm really starting to feel is essential, it's such a sharp figure that those 2 tweaks can take that much further, they kind of hold it's potential back a hair until you do them. After that, it's an A figure and all those super adjustmenst some folks do make it an A+.

I boiled the mask on mine, but I used the SSC mask and added my own non-functional wires as I don't care about the light up feature.

Holtrax clearly would care about that light-up feature what with all the additional lights he puts in his Predators! Some amazing stuff.

In terms of the other mods yeah the dreadlocks are really starting to bother me with the unnatural way they sit. But having to put wires into the base of each and every one of them? Am I correct that thats how to do it? And where would I get that wire? Its just I'm sure I've read in these very threads that the boiling and elastic band method doesn't really work.

No most people are just using hot water to soften the dreads and elastic or something to hold them in place and then cooling off the dreads so they take on a new shape. I haven't caught anyone using wire to control them.

Sorry Maulfan I just edited my post saying that I had read on here that the boiling and elastic band method hadn't been effective for people in the past. Even boiling and reshaping of plastic parts has never been a permanent solution for any problems I've had that way.

I've been able to improve my dreads with just an elastic band treatment. I've had to do it for a couple multi-week sessions leaving it wrapped, but it's taking.

They're just so thin, it looks in good scale, but being soft rubber, they just want to puff out rather than lay close to the head.

It may take a few treatments but I believe the methods for the dreads can work for anyone.

hey MF, since yor an expert and all, how come HT didnt do the dreads similar to the elder P2? i have one and the dreads hang great, was there a problem with Elder p2s dreads? i just dont get why HT didnt pursue the method..

I don't have the P2 Elder so I don't know. I have the P2 BD figure and the dreads are a bit large in scale to the figure, so my assumption would be, HT just put a strong effort into the P1 figure and realized the dreads needed to be thinner to be proper scale. The down side is, thinner means lighter and then they won't lay on their own wait much, so you need to train them to stay snug to the head with elastics.

You have a great point. The best two "stock" dreds on any of the HT Preds, is the P2 Elder and Wolf. Those dreds are perfect IMO. I wish they would have used the same dreds on the P1.
I have used the boiling water/cold water method on all of my P1s, and it has worked great. They are still hanging correctly. I posted earlier in this thread and wrote that it should stay in the boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Don't know what I was thinking, but I was WRONG. Others have posted around 30-45 seconds, and they are right.

I think the Dreds where an attempt to match the film's dreds which actually do stick out a bit.

I have yet to do the key mods, but I thought I'd finally throw some pics into the mix here:

I'm very late to this party but I'm soooooo happy with this figure. It's a wonder it wasn't even up for best 1/6th figure of the year. It should have been.
