Sabres21768's correct that the mask was rather weathered and beaten up looking, but it never had bullet holes in it and certainly not one right between the eyes.

Definetly not

However the CineMaquette has mask damage in the same places

Pehaps the damage is on there around when the Predator removes the helmet for the fight with Dutch.

That's the only thing I can think of, but the rest of the mask looks so pristine otherwise. It's not something that would stop me getting the figure, I'd just prefer a less damaged mask, but I typically display them masks off anyway. It just seems a shame to hide all that lovely detail. Have my Wolf Mask and CosBaby masks attached to my portable hard drives atm :lol

There has to be some reference material with that damage if Hot Toys would put it on twice and Cinemaquette has it too.

Wow...$210 shipped.....I want these but not sure that bad. I'll definitely nab two Preds one to display Bio on and on to display Bio off roaring and definitely a Dutch.

Lol... And the winner of best contradictory quote goes to...

I'd check my DVD but it's currently in storage, those were the best pics I could find at short notice. the one on the top of the mask doesn't look that bad, it's just the right between the eyes sticks out like a sore thumb.

lol.. you misunderstood. He's saying he wants them, but not bad enough to order off EBay and pay that ridiculous price. They won't be that expensive when they're officially released. Especially $50 for S&H.

Nope. Not even then. This is when he's got Dutch pinned to the log just before removing his mask:

Sorry for the poor image quality; I'm away from home and don't have the DVD handy, but happened to have some old images saved on my computer. Anywho, I have no idea why Hot Toys has put a bullet hole between his eyes on two product releases now.

I can only guess that they've used photo's from the cinemaquette for reference as it's the only mask I've seen that shares that damage.

Although it does have the one on the upper dome, so at least that damage is accurate

Must be. I noticed that their Predator 2 figures share some of the same errors as McFarlane's old 6" figures, namely the size of the laser and how it pivots, which makes me think they used his figures for reference material.

Anyhow, I hope they ditch the bullet holes.

Guess a lot of the problem is that the films are so old the original reference material isn't there anymore. Didn't Steve Wang sculpt the cinemaquette and work on the original suit as well ?

Predator representations have been using that damage for years. Old model kits from decades ago had it.

yeah , thats what I was thinking. Always seems to be exactly the same too.
Strange Steve Wang himslef used it though. :lol
Maybe he just liked how it looked... :rotfl

Also, there is a small impression/dent right between the eyes on the on screen mask. It's barely noticeable though. Best I can surmise is someone decades ago sculpted it onto a model kit a bit too deeply, and over the years people have been referencing it, and it has just become more and more pronounced as more and more people referenced it.
