Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

the one on the left is my first figure which would be wave 1 and one the right is wave 2 so there you have it there is not differance

I actually thought that the one on the left looked a tad bit thinner, but Maulfan was right about the angle. No difference at all.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I bet he posted 2 of the same to see who's dumb enough to make up differences in there just based on the slight change in pose, and I fell for it. D'OH!

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

OK, then the improved wave is definitely the left one. His chest is slimmer, he stands better, and his shoulders don't bulge out like he's "wearing hockey pads" like the one on the right.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Hope you don't mind Zeelhar, one of your images was perfect for exploring something I wanted to.

Here's the original figure on the left, and on the right I've resized the head in neck by 110% on the figure, and based off stills from the movie, that pretty much puts it in proper proportion to the rest of the body. It's not too far off, but I just wondered how it'd look if the HT figure was in more accurrate proportions.

That improves it dramatically actually. (Not being sarcastic either)

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

good thing I opted not to buy this figure... I'm happy with my Original Costume Batman... with his Dark Knight belt I bought from eBay :D

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I disagree. Even with the resized head you did Maulfan the chest is still too big and wide. The problem isn't the head, it's simply the chest piece and I've pointed this out already. Even if you mod it and make it flatter it only "fixes" it from a side angle. From the front it's still huge.

If the chest armor was smaller and more narrow the other "bulk" issues like the arms, abdomen etc. disappear. Here:

indeed, why chance the head? the head does not make it look bulk, it is the chest area!

good photoshoot btw! look alot more accurate that way!

Guess there's too ways to see it. Given Bale's size, when I look at the figure, everything but the neck and head seem in proportion to each other properly, nothing to change about any of it, even the chest armor is fine, the arms, they all work if the head and neck are just a little bigger to better the vision of a body laying underneath the suit being proper sized. When I look at the figure, it seems like the body that would be proportionate to the head and neck under the suit would have a lot of room inside and be floating around in there, which is not the case. This is also why the Bruce head looks undersized on it (besides the head being a tad too small anyway). Hot Toys heads and necks are just a hair disproportionate to their TT body and depending on the costuming, that is more or less apparent.

I also took a still from the Prewitt siege scene and PSed with his head relative to the shoulders and found basically the width was about 3 heads. Taking Zeelhar's original image and pasting the head, it came up short until I increased the head size 110%.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

its the head it is to small that is why original suit batman looks so good it has a bigger head

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Continuing to beat a dead horse.

The chest armor could be a tad smaller and tighter to the body. The rubber is a lot thicker in areas (especially in the chest) compared to the Begins figure, which also makes the figure look 'too big'. Shoulder armor could also be a tad smaller.

The prototype looked much better in the chest (just check out the packaging) and the suit was more fitted to the body.

Medicom will probably look the best.

Also, since a third movie is in the works, I think we can expect this suit to show up again. So hopefully Hot Toys gets it right the next time. Doesn't help now, though.
